thatsnotmypuppy Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 So it's on - Canada VS Australia. Just list who is your number 1 (they will get 2 points) and your number 2 (they will get one point). Poll is open for three days.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted March 21, 2006 Author Report Posted March 21, 2006 So, my vote - 1. Perth (2 points) 2. Hamilton (1 point)
Rafa Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 1. Hamilton 2 points i donate the remaining 1 point to an AIDs organization
baron-pierreIV Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 so, I still haven't gotten a straight (or even 'gay') answer to this question: what are the inhabitants of Perth called: Perthians or Perthlings? That will determine my vote.
Colonel Iredale Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Australians? perhaps Western Australians? Lest face it, in Western Australia you will find: 1)Perth 2) ERmm... 3) err... 4).... 5) ?? 6) Anyway may vote goes: 1) Perth (2pts) 2) Hamilton (1pts) Sorry, but the idea of a replication of Leeds fills me with inertia.

Aronious Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 I sense my comments made against the Harare bid are coming back to bite my on the arse, in the form of Mo Rush. None the less, the two most technical bids got through, and im somewhat disappointed to see that. 1. Perth, technically well planned. Excellent venue plan, something different from recent past Australian events. Though has hosted before. 2. Hamilton, the somewhat “home’ of the games. I hate to place it second, as I feel it would be superior over nearly all cities in the Commonwealth. Great venue plan, somewhat “small” games, but still a flexible and realistic bid.
HFB-Melbourne Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 All three points to Perth. Hamilton is about as ho-hum as you can get. It's like holding the games in Geelong or something.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted March 22, 2006 Author Report Posted March 22, 2006 I cant allow that. If you don’t want to give Hamilton your one point fine - but Perth will just get the two - thus you forfeit the one pint. Geelong bashing will also not be tolerated! Eastern Beach and the Wool Museum are great!
Apple Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 1. Hamilton – Back when Hamilton made it’s real bid there was a few things I didn’t like so this was my chance to place forward a bid I think would be better, saving Ivor Wynne Stadium aka Civic Stadium and placing Lawn Bowling next to Niagara Falls, our neighbour. Made this bid as realistic as possible. 2. Perth – An excellent bid with outstanding venues. I’m happy to have a great competitor. I won’t forfeit any bid as I personally think its offensive to rule out any bid since it takes a person time and energy just to make a bid book so the person at least deserves its credit.
pooette Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 you enticed me to vote. i like the compactness of hamilton. soo... it gets my vote. then perth.
mr.x Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 1. Hamilton 2. Perth Both are awesome cities, awesome bids.

Eastern Beach and the Wool Museum are great! I'll give Hamilton the third point if I can't give it to Perth, but Perth is certainly the better bid by more then 33%.
thatsnotmypuppy Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 I agree that the Perth bid is the superior one - in a few ways - however in the pursuit of fairness we must make everyones choices clear - 2 points for the favourite, 1 for the runner up. Either way, there is only 22 hours left - so we all shall know who has won soon enough.
Aronious Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 you enticed me to vote. i like the compactness of hamilton. soo... it gets my vote.then perth. Looking at the bids, Perth seems to be far more compact then Hamilton, even with a large number of extra sports. None the less, i respect your vote.
