Someone called Ginny Thrasher wins the first gold medal of the games for the US in a shooting contest. Don't you just love that name? :D

Tad ironic that it had to be in a shooting event I guess. :ph34r:

Bullet fired at Rio Olympics equestrian centre

Rio de Janeiro: A bullet has been fired at a press conference room at the equestrian centre at the Rio Olympics, landing inside the building, a New Zealand Olympic Committee spokeswoman says.

New Zealand Olympic Committee communications manager Ashley Abbott said members of the New Zealand team at the venue were being contacted to inform them of the incident.

Abbott said media had been advised by a police officer assigned to the team to gather in a workroom to await further advice.

By the way, looks like they're reusing the anthems from London 2012 by the London Symphony Orchestra instead of making new ones.

London Philharmonic Orchestra made those recordings, not the LSO :)

I think this is a (justified) cost saving move. There is no real point of re-recording the anthems every 2 years when they never actually change.

I agree. I dont have a problem with it. There is no need to keep re-recording anthems.
