ISU judges/nations will no longer be incognito

Recommended Posts

The ISU has decided that anonymous judging in Figure Skating events will come to an end ASAP. All Figure skating competitions henceforth will have the judges & their nations be revealed, as it used to be before the scandal at Salt Lake 2002. Altho before 2002, it was only the judges' nations that were revealed on TV. All this to promote transparency and accountability -- which I agree with.

Any chance they will move back to a simple 6.0, throw and the high and low scores system? At least people understood that.

Interesting to note that the highest priced tickets in Pyeongchang are for the unjudged gala.

Wait, so how exactly is that going to work out since it's no longer a 6.0 grading system and every move is calculated individually? I never really did understand how the judges delegate who judges what, or if they're all responsible for judging each and every element.
