Ikarus360 Posted June 3, 2016 Report Posted June 3, 2016 The mascot pictograms from the official website. Also doing some search at Twitter it looks like the mascots are liked by most people in Korea so far. No big surprise the tiger is the most popular of the duo. olympiaki-agones Posted June 7, 2016 Report Posted June 7, 2016 I guess the tiger would have been enough. It seems Sochi and PyeongChang are looking back Moscow and Seoul mascot success. Quote

JMarkSnow2012 Posted June 11, 2016 Report Posted June 11, 2016 any idea when will they open the volunteers registration? Oddly enough, it may already have started within Korea (though I wouldn't entirely trust this article): http://english.chosun.com/site/data/html_dir/2015/07/30/2015073001320.html Jul. 30, 2015 11:02 KST The organizers are setting up a committee in charge of recruitment, training and management of all volunteers and producing manuals inspired by similar bodies at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games and 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju. Recruitment starts in February next year and will extend until April 2017. Quote

Ikarus360 Posted July 24, 2016 Report Posted July 24, 2016 The mascots were officially presented a couple of days ago on a ceremony For what i've read through korean websites, it seems the plan was always doing a shoot out to Hodori from the beggining with a white tiger. Some preliminary designs made between 2014-2015 were leaked some days ago. Last but not least, sneak peak of the mascot figures which are on the making 1 Quote
TeamBlakeUSA Posted July 31, 2016 Report Posted July 31, 2016 How About Bandabi As A Mascot Figure. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted August 6, 2016 Report Posted August 6, 2016 Glad they're already promoting the next games we'll be seeing after Rio's. Soohorang looks cute as ever. And that animation was seriously adorable. Much like how Rio used a 2D animation style reminiscing of Cartoon Network shows these days, Pyeongchang is using the 3D one which has been popular with kids lately because of shows like Telemonster and Miraculous (the later which is co-made with Japan and France) Kakao Messenger also released a special set of emoticons for the Rio Olympics though not involving the mascots (they are going to release ones later, though) Quote
Ikarus360 Posted August 20, 2016 Report Posted August 20, 2016 Soohorang seems to have a good time at Copacabana Quote

Ikarus360 Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 Soohorang and Bandabi wishing us a Happy New Year 2017 with the traditional deep bowing. Also, there is a small House of Soohorang and Bandabi in Pyeongchang (apparently nearby Alpensia resort) The North Face, a clothing outlet, are starting to sell some merchandise related with the mascots http://www.thenorthfacekorea.co.kr/display/showDisplay.lecs?goodsNo=NF31082983 http://www.thenorthfacekorea.co.kr/display/showDisplay.lecs?goodsNo=NF31082984 http://www.thenorthfacekorea.co.kr/display/showDisplay.lecs?goodsNo=NF31079960 1 Quote
AmaniS Posted January 25, 2017 Report Posted January 25, 2017 Is there a way to order these through their stores in other countries. North face does have tshirts and polos with the Pyeongchang symbol. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted January 27, 2017 Report Posted January 27, 2017 Some pics I found on Twitter showing mascot merchandise they're starting to sell around Korea. Funny caricature/drawing of Soohorang and Yuna Kim (Vancouver 2010 champion in figure skating) from a korean twitter account 1 Quote
Ikarus360 Posted February 11, 2017 Report Posted February 11, 2017 Some more pics i got of merchandise of the mascots which they're apparently selling on both Lotte and The North Face (though I can't find a website for the former with prices or anything so far ) Just a fun pic i found from one of the Soohorang fursuit guys Quote
