yoshi Posted March 5, 2024 Report Posted March 5, 2024 Well these major athletics events always seem to go well here so why not? Still think Barcelona should've had it by now though. How big is the Gateshead stadium & how big could it be made? The north-east really does deserve a major athletics championship with all its tradition, whether that's a Worlds (probably too small) or a Euros. A Commonwealth Games for the region would've been a good shout if they hadn't gone down the tubes... Quote
yoshi Posted March 5, 2024 Report Posted March 5, 2024 I assume London is only bidding against you & hasn't actually won? We've hosted since Germany last did so if anything it should be your turn first Quote

First of all the stadium renovation here needs to be on time and there really have been many delays with other projects recently. Quote

Rob2012 Posted February 10 Author Report Posted February 10 Looking at @Cyriln's photos of the post-Paris 2024 Games exhibition made me wonder if we'll get something similar when the London Museum reopens next year at its new, much bigger location... https://www.londonmuseum.org.uk/smithfield/ The old Museum of London had some bits, the cauldron room being the most obvious. But with much more space I hope we get something about London's three Olympics. Quote
