Nacholympic
The rejected idea could be vibrant, but not original... I expected to give a further step and leave behid the projection mapping on the floor... Anyway, we are just 3 months to go and we have nothing in sight, yet.... Ikarus360
I don't expect anything from these ceremonies. And to be honest I think I was maybe a bit too harsh on Rio ceremonies back in the day. Looking back at it, they did a good job considering the crisis Brazil was having. If Japan does something like Rio did I can live with that, but I already resigned to the fact there will be nothing particulary spectacular or surprising given the situation. baron-pierreIV
I don't know how much NBC's input matters at this point, but I would think they would still want some spectacle to fill their 4-hour slot devoted to Opening.Ā And of course, I think maybe only around 6,000-7,000 athletes will march in Opening.Ā So NBC will just flood their broadcast with tons of advertising.Ā YIKES!!Ā I also wonder how many people Paris will be sending for their Handover segment.Ā Bet it's going to be a very scaled down show.Ā Ā

Palette86
Quote Mixed-gender Olympic Oath takers being considered for Tokyo Games Organizers are considering having one female and one male athlete swear the Olympic Oath at the upcoming Tokyo Games opening ceremony, a source familiar with the matter said Wednesday. Traditionally, one athlete from the host nation recites the oath on behalf of all games participants but having a mixed-gender pair carry out the rite on July 23 would be a nod to gender balance and equality recommendations set out in Olympic Agenda 2020. At the Seoul Olympics in 1988, female handball player Son Mi Na and male basketball player Hur Jae delivered the athletes' oath together in the only previous occasion where more than one person has given the Olympic pledge of sportsmanship. The International Olympic Committee has called the Tokyo Olympics "the first-ever gender-balanced Olympic Games in history," with almost 49 percent of the athletes participating being women and a record number of female competitors at the Paralympics. The idea is being considered just months after the long-time organizing committee chief Yoshiro Mori stepped down amid an uproar over sexist comments he made regarding women's input in meetings. The 83-year-old retracted the remarks and offered an apology "to anyone I have offended" but blamed the media for fanning public anger. The IOC has encouraged National Olympic Committees to take up the option to have both a female and male flagbearer, and also decided that each of the 206 delegations should include at least one male and one female. In addition to the delegation captain, the Japanese Olympic Committee is planning to add a vice-captain for the first time at a Summer Games. The team will ensure each role is held by an athlete of a different gender. All three oath takers at past Olympics held in Japan have been male. Gymnast Takashi Ono took the Olympic Oath in 1964 when Tokyo last hosted the Summer Games. Speed skater Keiichi Suzuki took the oath at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Games and Nordic combined skier Kenji Ogiwara did so at the 1998 Nagano Winter Games. Palette86
Quote Eco-friendly Tokyo Olympic medal podium unveiled, with 50 days to go The organizing body of the Tokyo Olympics on Thursday unveiled an environmentally friendly medal podium and newly composed music that will be played during victory ceremonies, as the Japanese capital marked 50 days to go until the major international sporting event. During a live online event, the organizers introduced the navy-colored checkered podium, which was made from recycled plastic, as well as costumes and medal trays to be used by volunteers who will take part in the ceremonies. "For athletes standing on the podium and for others watching them, I believe (the ceremonies) will allow us to realize the value of holding the games during this time," Seiko Hashimoto, president of the committee, said of the games to be held amid the coronavirus pandemic. "We have 50 days. I feel like I can hear the footsteps of the athletes who will cross the sea and gather in Tokyo," she said. "The organizing committee will protect the health of athletes at all costs." Podiums, designed by artist Asao Tokolo who created the games' emblems, were made using marine plastic waste and household plastic to highlight the committee's push for sustainability, one of the key concepts of the Olympics set to open on July 23. @SportNow786542
7 hours ago, Anthony said: it looks like it could be. however, it doesn't lead into the obs logo. We just got to wait until either the IOC would copyright claim this video, just as the one from Rio was leaked three months prior to the 2016 Games; and then was taken down in the following month, orĀ oneĀ of its official broadcasters would preview this, just like Romania's TVR did, to use it for their promo of its PyeongChang 2018 coverage. And hopefully, this wouldĀ end with Tokyo 2020's emblem being shown in the end rather than the OBS logo, and if it does, it would be the first time that we would see an emblem being featured in an official Summer Olympics intro since Barcelona, in which the 1992 Games' logo was shown in the final seconds of it;Ā alongside the wordmark 'RTO '92'. It can work well as a template for other broadcasters so they could add their own logo in the end, for example: If you were watching the Games from other countries like Singapore, then the logo of Mediacorp would be shown alongside Tokyo's emblem, and the words 'Official Broadcaster'. Also, OBS have already done this method of placing the official emblem in the end, these examples were the TV titles of the Youth Olympics in both Buenos Aires 2018 and Lausanne 2020.
