These guys are part of the #NoOlympicsAnywhere movement or as Reddit calls them, the cancel culture of sports.

Seriously, what's wrong with those guys from #NoOlympicsAnywhere?  Were they hate Olympic because they were not selected to participate, or anti-social?  Whichever they commented are just so negative, and useless to improve the society.  They can't suggest alternative.

If you actually read the arguments of opponents to Olympics, you will see that there actually is a lot of reason why they are opposed. Holding a grudge against the IOC is hardly among them.

Just wait until you see the #NoOlympicsAnywhere guys doxxing a LA restaurant owner back in 2019.

Looking at Marco Balich's insta, it looks like he's a producer on the show. I SMELL AN ELECTRIC CAULDRON!

I highly doubt it, apparently there will be a natural flame but made from environmentally friendly gas like Rio, if i recall.

Looks kinda pbasic, you can tell they cut a lot of the budget compared to Mikiko plan if you look at the simplistic stage where the cauldron is.

According to the latest news from TOCOG, Balich and Pearce Shepard are assistant of executive producer,Takayuki Hikoki. Designer of cauldron is Oki Sato.

stupid white ovals..I suppose they are best for projections... so we are stuck with them!

I just hope it’s cleverly combined with large practical props they can bring into the stadium, performers, costumes, etc. It should add to the ambience like lighting but not be the show itself. One of my favorite scenes where I thought it was used creatively was the Vancouver ceremony with the whales. Not expecting much though, given the setbacks this Olympiad has seen, but still holding out hope for the best.

Fewer than 1,000 may watch Olympic opening ceremony in person

The number of people, excluding athletes, allowed to watch the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Olympics in person, might be reduced to fewer than than 1,000, sources with knowledge of the matter said Thursday.

The organizers of the Olympics, to be held under a coronavirus state of emergency declared for the Japanese capital, have been continuing coordination to cut back the number of people attending the ceremony at the National Stadium on July 23, the sources said.

Interesting concepts. It's great to see that there will be performers on the stage. You could say that these concepts are not explored much as in previous Olympic Ceremonies as the main focus is on the host country's culture and society. I would love to see how they plan the choreography and the artistic direction for the ceremonies; hopefully they'll add some Japanese cultural elements like Mikiko's plan with Japanese video games and anime.

Seems like the ceremony will be mostly focused in the Pandemic than anything else. Very sad the circumstances forced this to happened but its also understandable.

We'll see if they would add elements of Japanese culture.
