PikyoK
https://www.instagram.com/p/CP0jL6lgC0J/ I found an aerial picture of the Tokyo National Stadium. They seem to be getting ready for the Opening Ceremony stage. It looks very much like the stage floor of leaked rejected idea of the Opening Ceremony.

Even under Hiroshi Sasaki (who was resigned as creative director earlier this year), it's like we saw only minor changes or looked almost exactly the same as MIKIKO's ceremony concept, but let's wait and see what this extravaganza unfolds, or what has modified from her original proposal. yoshi
Is MIKIKO's full proposal available anywhere or are those few pages the only bit that's been released?

And hopefully, this would end with Tokyo 2020's emblem being shown in the end rather than the OBS logo, and if it does, it would be the first time that we would see an emblem being featured in an official Summer Olympics intro since Barcelona, in which the 1992 Games' logo was shown in the final seconds of it; alongside the wordmark 'RTO '92'. It can work well as a template for other broadcasters so they could add their own logo in the end, for example: If you were watching the Games from other countries like Singapore, then the logo of Mediacorp would be shown alongside Tokyo's emblem, and the words 'Official Broadcaster'. Also, OBS have already done this method of placing the official emblem in the end, these examples were the TV titles of the Youth Olympics in both Buenos Aires 2018 and Lausanne 2020. Buenos Aires 2018 - OBS Broadcast Opening Sequence - YouTube Lausanne 2020 - OBS Broadcast Opening Sequence - YouTube i think it's too real to be fake imo

Looks a bit similar to the leaked renders of the rejected Ideas but i don't think it will be exactly the same. Then again, due to the lack of time caused by the whole pandemic, maybe they had no other choice but to use what they already had planified at the moment. 7 hours ago, @SportNow786542 said: Even under Hiroshi Sasaki (who was resigned as creative director earlier this year), it's like we saw only minor changes or looked almost exactly the same as MIKIKO's ceremony concept, but let's wait and see what this extravaganza unfolds, or what has modified from her original proposal. Due to the pandemic, I highly doubt we'll see a large number of performers. I think technology and projections will be the main protagonists of the event. I predict they'll most likely use LED lights in the chairs like in the Arashi concert I shared in order to not make the absence of public too obvious (it kinda helped in Pyeongchang)

Pretty much. Not sure on what degree will they try to be innovative with its usage but the current situation will force them to be ingenuous to still give us a good show despite the circumstances.

yoshi
Oh ok. I just thought that since it was obviously a document beyond what was released, the full thing might have been available through that Shinbun. Like a ceremony media guide (which is what it looked like). Thanks

BigVic
Nothing is mentioned in the protocol guide for the Closing Ceremony about raising the flags for future hosts Olympics. The US and Australian flags and their respective anthems should also be played on the night of the Closing Ceremony as Los Angeles, CA, USA and Brisbane, QLD, Australia are to become hosts for the 2028 and 2032 games. They're keeping Rio's theme of small cauldrons that don't damage the environment. Good on them. I also like the idea being Mount Fuji with the sun rising being the cauldron. Shiruba98
Also noticed the design of the proposed cauldron has scaled down compared to the proposal images. Guess they wanted it and the flag stand to have a modern/traditional aesthetic.

Ikarus360
Last thing the Organizing Committe wants to do is enrage japanese citizens even more, so a scaled down cauldron was expected even though i'm personally tired/annoying of this dumb trend Rio started. It's stupid to throw such an excuse like the environment for the cauldron when you're going to throw a lot of fireworks into the air which are going to pollute it anyway (China, for all its faults in pollution, at least kept the environment preservation a consistent theme in the 2011 Universiade opening, which avoided the usage of fireworks completely and instead heavily used technology and projections)
