daniel anderson400
mine would be maybe of course Al Michaels during the Miracle On Ice of course but id add maybe a few others like Russ Hellickson after Rulon Gardner won in 2000 or Tom Hammond during the women's 100 meters final in 92(he like the rest of us didn't know who had won until the replays clearly showed it was Gail Devers) cant remember any others so what were your favorites? MissEurasia
My Favourites - 1976 - Nadia Comaneci winning the All-Around and earning the 1st ever 'Perfect 10' 1984 - Mary Lou Retton winning the All-Around over the Romanian Favourite Ecaterina Szabo. 1992 - Nigerian Women's 4x100 Team capturing the Bronze Medal in a rather tight Race. I loved how happy they were and celebrating when they found out they won the Bronze Medal, Really felt touched by it. 1996 - USA Women's Gymnastics Team fighting off Russia and Romania to win the Gold Medal in the Team Event, The Crowd in the Georgia Dome went nuts when Kerri Strug stuck her 2nd Vault with an injured knee. Another one of my favourites was when Nigeria's Chioma Ajunwa won Nigeria's 1st Gold Medal in the Women's Long Jump Event. 2000 - Romania winning Gold in both the Team Event and sweeping the Medals Podium in the All-Around Finals with Andreea Raducan, Simona Amanar & Maria Olaru winning Gold, Silver & Bronze. . 2012 - USA Winning Team & All-Around Gold with Gabby Douglas. TorchbearerSydney
T Cathy Freemans Gold Medal in 2000 was pretty memorable. Often cited as one of the best, the calm and minimal commentary against the absolute craziness of 115,000 (biggest athletic crowd in history) going bananas. zekekelso
I hate to be *that guy* but the Miracle on Ice wasn't the gold medal game. The US didn't clinch that until the beat Finland two days later. Anyway, best call ever? Hands down Dick Bank's call of Billy Mills in the '64 10,000 Best call of my lifetime? Gifford/Beattie calling Franz Klammer's '76 gold. I've also seen this version in German that sounds awesome (any German speakers know what this is from?) LatinXTC
1996- Kerri Strug made the one-footed landing to win gold for the USA women's gymanstics. The hype leading up to that was unbelievable and nerve-racking, especially since we came very close to losing gold. 2002- Sarah Hughes winning gold in women's figure skating due to an unusual rule that moved her from 4th to 1st when they still scored under a 6.0 system. I was rooting for Michelle Kwan, but I was just ecstatic that the Russian didn't win it! 2004- Gervasio Deferr winning gold in the men's vault for the 2nd time in a row. (I just wanted him to win because he was the hottest in the event lol) 2008- Michael Phelps won his 100m butterfly gold medal, edging out and upsetting Cavic. 2008- Jason Lezak made up some major time to win the gold for the US team in the 4x100m freestyle relay, also giving Michael Phelps his record-breaking 8th gold medal, beating Mark Spitz' record. 2010- Evan Lysacek beat out Evgeny Plushenko for gold in men's figure skating 2010- Kim Yu Na won gold for women's figure skating, the first for South Korea 2010- US men's 4-man bobsledding team with Steven Holcomb winning gold 2012- the US women's gymnastics team won gold 2012- Gabby Douglas won All-Around gold 2014- US men swept the podium in the slopestyle skiing event

fanbrits johnson
Actually I think my favourite moment has always been the 2012 US women's gymnastics team winning gold. It's funny how by accident after the Olympics i found the best place to buy gymnastics leotards and decided to continue my practice. I was injured two years ago and couldn't overcome the fear of falling again, but that team made me fight for what I love
