My entry for the Summer Games:

Be'er Sheva is one of the important cities in Israel, not an usual city for this contest (I think at least) and not the first choice in Israel for hosting the Olympic Games, but I think it has the potential.
The logo big idea based on butterfly, as a symbol for development, change and the growth of the city.
The wings of the butterfly have shape of drop to represent the water elements in the city and also to represent flow and movement. the empty part in the wings make shape of ring to represent the olympic ring. The fractures are making stained-glass windows that can found in the city-Hall.
The green and the brown parts represent the Tamarix Tree, one of the most famous symbols of Be'er Sheva. The yellow parts represent the desert and the Negev (south area in Israel, big part of the desert in the country and the area Be'er Sheva is found). The blue part represent the the water elements in the city (ya, again this idea, they have a lot of fountains and artificial waterfalls).
The slogan "Fly to Your Dreams" comes from the slogan of Be'er Sheva- Capital of opportunities of Israel. The "opportunities" became to "dreams" because we need opportunities to make our dreams to come true. The "fly" comes from the butterfly (well, it is flying...).
Branding:
posters

sport olympic icons (examples)

Again the drops, to represent the water elements in the city and also to represent flow and movement (obviously).
--------
I think I will add more to the branding part but it is the mean idea.
So, what you think?

Not sure how I feel about the city...

I will go with either malmo or Innsbruck for winter games logo

I think Inssbruck could look cool, given your graphic design abilities.

Here is another Summer logo I made for Denver. I believe Denver is one of those American cities that could bid for both the Summer and Winter games, though given its size a winter games would be more fitting...I just liked this logo more for the summer games. If you guys think it should be winter let me know. Also do you guys like this one more than my NOLA one?

Okay, I'll change it to Winter Olympics. I'm withdrawing my Stockholm submission and replacing it with Denver.

Thank you all for the suggestions!

Looks like a really clever nice simple summer logo to me.......I love it. Probably too simple for the GB crowd, they tend to love a riot of color and imprecision (at least at first glance).......but I got a couple monochromatic logos through before so there is hope for simplicity. It's a really nice idea.

Well, now I have a winter version along with a summer one...I suppose which ever one the GB Crowd prefers is the one I'll go with, but you have NO idea how much your words mean to me. Your logo's have always inspired me...and I will say that your simplistic logo's have served as an inspiration in my more recent graphic design. It's all so clean.

I was going to be polite and not mention this, but yeah...that's what I saw as well. Sorry Anthony.

The 'L' and 'P' in the Lake Placid Logo look like a toilet......

My roommates told me it looked like a penis. But I still went with it. I might change it. Idk yet

I didn't see that...until I read this comment and went back to look at it...now I can't unsee it.

The other one looks really nice, but now that I really look at it, I feel like it would be a new logo for the New York Stock Exchange. The mountains kind of look like stocks.
