thatsnotmypuppy
Very 80's throwback. Links in well with the LA84 visual legacy.
Usa2024olympics
Simple, warm, and inviting. Like said, I only like it as a bid logo.
zekekelso
The stretched out LA reminds me of the old LA LAW license plate.
woohooitsme83
obviously a rush job...on the cheap... There's no reason for them to make an entirely new logo, so there must be some reason why it was changed. Maybe not rushed, but instead Intentional? obviously a rush job...on the cheap... Usa2024olympics
They've had this logo since December I remember seeing it on a document which was in a photo.
LatinXTC
Simple, warm, and inviting. Like said, I only like it as a bid logo. Yea same here, it's just a bid logo. Save the badassery of a logo for the actual games. Let's not waste all the good ideas for the bid phase.
baron-pierreIV
That's it. LA will lose becuz of this logo!! I am sure of it.
mr.bernham
I preferred this Logo:
bairrosfelipe
Its cool, but seems a bit psychedelic :S
TorchbearerSydney
It harks back to the 1984 'pastel' Games.......... the tie die look is a bit psychedelic too.... Would have looked better with LA 2024 I think - LA 24 is a bit cryptic and short.
Lord David
obviously a rush job...on the cheap... But that official London 2012 logo we got supposedly cost 100's of thousands of Pounds! God knows how much PyeongChang's logo cost and Sochi was a registered domain name!

Mr Tickle
The first logo was far superior. All the work had been done so why incur the cost of a redesign and applying it to all the elements. Waste of time and money. https://www.behance.net/gallery/24823429/LA-2024-Olympic-Bid-City They seem to be using the same colour palette as London 2017 as well. Which apart from liking the London 2017 logo, Im not a big fan of what Ive seen so far. http://www.london2017athletics.com
mr.bernham
Not to mention it furthered the trend of '3-d' logos.
paul
the first bid one should come back if LA wins. i wuv it.
JMarkSnow2012
the first bid one should come back if LA wins. i wuv it. Something like that may be the intention, as it echoes the dynamic star/stripe look of LA 84.
Mr Tickle
Maybe the first logo resembled a theatres logo designed by a Belgian and they couldn't take the risk
woohooitsme83
The logo is apparently just temporary till LA is "a candidate city," i.e. until Tuesday, I'd assume. jtrevino
As controversial as London’s "Lisa Simpson giving head” logo was, it was at the forefront of a design trend of going VHS retro-80s. You see that in the iOS iphone app design interface, the current Google logo, and now the LA bid logo. But they need to change it. It’s a bit uninspired, especially with the marketing/branding resources that are abundant in LA.
paul
...have you considered the Paris logo....total crap. sad really.
FYI
Well, it's only the bid logo. It's not like it's the actual Games logo.
