phandrosis
Almaty will start at 10:30 local, so we have about half an hour until then.
woohooitsme83
I'm assuming the he saying the plan feels like it is limiting its contributions to the world of sports in general (because it's mostly focusing on improving Switzerland/Lausanne?) somehow. I'm really not sure.

Olympic Fan Darcy
So this is happening right now/ in a few hours? Kind of expected it to be late at night to suit other nations. 2018 and 2020 were like midnight-3am Australian time.
bg0296
Dear god, that "question" Cinquanta asked the Lausane bid... what a pompous a-hole. I thought the exact same thing. The only rationale I can possibly come up with for a question like that is that Cinquanta thinks small countries are incapable of hosting successful events. The question was very loaded and arrogant, in my opinion.

baron-pierreIV
Is it back on? I'm on the IOC site and it just says: LIVE...but no transmission. How odd that some1.5 years after the loss of MH370 and small world spotlight is on Malaysia (as IOC host) and then the wing from the missing jet washes up. Couldn't have been planned better. phandrosis
They've always been very honest about those kind of things The point they're making that choosing Kazakhstan will show other less developed countries that they are able to run against much more developed countries and win may bode over well with the IOC... Also they are obviously jumping all over Beijing which is hilarious
woohooitsme83
Watching with my mom, and she is laughing her butt off because the speaker's accent makes it sound like he's saying focks (f*cks) instead of facts...

Ikarus360
Almaty already has my sympathy for being blatantly honest with their bid and teasing Beijing. Too bad they're also ruled by a regime with a bad human rights reputation but eh thats beyond the point now.

phandrosis
When he said world power as well. This is a lot more fun that I thought it was going to be. I wonder if Beijing will be the same or if they will be artificially kind... and in French! Here's Almaty's Christel Takigawa!
Fox334
The map with the giant dot is making a comeback! Loving how aggressive Almaty is being. Hey guys: do you think Almaty has snow? I'm not sure about that.
