JPN2020 0
Hello All, I'm new to this Forum so forgive me if I have posted this thread in the wrong category. I've been interested in Japanese Bids for a while now and have studied almost all of them, The ones I haven't studied much on is Nagoya 1988 and Yokohama 2008. I managed to find a few things from these Forums related to Nagoya's Bid but I haven't found much on Yokohama's. For those who do not know, Yokohama also submitted a Domestic Bid along with Osaka (Whom the Japanese would end up bidding with). I hope anyone has any info on this Bid or even better, anything related to it (Like Publications of even the Website) Thanks! JPN2020.
runningrings 678
Yokohama never bid for 2008, that was Osaka. Unless there was some smaller bid at a domestic level, which was won by Osaka? APOLOGIES - just properly read your post and realised this is what you meant. *ashamed*
thatsnotmypuppy 559
Not much out there sadly - http://www.t3.rim.or.jp/~sports/latest/2008.html http://www.apnewsarchive.com/1996/Yokohama-Bidding-for-2008-Olympic-Games/id-32db6f1717f4057e530661f224d6fb52 I think it is safe to say the International Stadium was built with this bid in mind as well as the 2002 World Cup. I can't find any other justification for the track being there.
