TeamBlakeUSA Posted July 4, 2016 Report Posted July 4, 2016 I Wonder What Will The Animation Will Be Like At The Closing Ceremony.

It's a case of having more elements isn't really any less. It doesn't appear to be a very imaginative or whimsical concept -- and requires like 80 elements or so, just to make its point. It's really kinda corny.
AmaniS Posted July 4, 2016 Report Posted July 4, 2016 I like the idea that the same number of elements are used in both. Like that part, but not really crazy for it. I guess the can change the colors in the blocks or place pictures in them. So where is merchandise available?
Ikarus360 Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 I'm going to wait until the brand. The logo has lots of potential if used well with a powerful branding so its a bit too early to say its bad. I admit though its funny how we went back to a ring shaped logo (the original bid one) but now with a checkered pattern instead of cherry blossom.

I admit though its funny how we went back to a ring shaped logo (the original bid one) but now with a checkered pattern instead of cherry blossom. People really liked the bid logo so it makes sense why they wanted to go that way. If you look back on Japanese bid and games logos, they're either circles, flowers, or both. I have a feeling that the brand will not be directly related to the logo, like in Nagano.
TeamBlakeUSA Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 It's Just Different But The Same Rotation.
phandrosis Posted July 7, 2016 Report Posted July 7, 2016 Renders for the Japan House in Rio shows that the logo is meant to be color swapped in many ways. http://dentsu-ho.com/articles/4141
paul Posted July 8, 2016 Report Posted July 8, 2016 ...if I cut you up in little pieces and put you in the freezer I could thaw you out on Aug 4th and eat you bite by bite after rolling you in rice and seaweed. That's kinda a Japanese preparation style! Then I can jump on a plane to Rio real fast and **** you out in the potty in the Japan House....and I'll ask them not to flush you for awhile so you can enjoy it a little before flushing you out to the sailing venue where maybe you can infect some dumb German windsurfer or maybe you would end running off into Copacabana where you can infect some Australian marathon swimmer. Anyway destiny can largely be affected by the goals we set for ourselves so where would you rather visit next Berlin or Perth? I just the Olympics, so many opportunities to meet new people and travel to new places!
TeamBlakeUSA Posted July 12, 2016 Report Posted July 12, 2016 We'll Wait For The Banners And Concept To Be The Same For Website Until The Closing Ceremony From Rio.
baron-pierreIV Posted July 15, 2016 Report Posted July 15, 2016 Thought I'd share this link of a fabulous Israeli-born graphic designer whose work is what Olympic and corporate logos should be about. There are 60 examples of her work using "negative space" imagery. http://digitalsynopsis.com/design/negative-space-art-illustrations-noma-bar/ But I don't know why I'm even sharing it with some yahoos here -- and they know who they are.

Nagano's bid logo. Looks like a hokey stick.
Ikarus360 Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 They also had a very different mascot to what we got in the end, who was kind of cute but was eventually replaced by the Snowlets.
