Rob2012
I found out today that Japan changed its flag in 1999. Maybe a similar update to the 1964 logo is all that's needed!

Wow- that is the most anally retentive thing ever! Gotta love Japan. Why didn't we all notice the 'sun' was moved one percent to the left- we are slipping. Sir Rols
Wow- that is the most anally retentive thing ever! Gotta love Japan. You've obviously never had to deal with the official rules that dictate how the Australian Coat of Arms are used in publications and websites - down to the millimetres that must separate the arms from any type etc etc. I imagine all countries are as much sticklers for how their national symbols are presented. TorchbearerSydney
I have had a great deal of bureaucratic experience at the highest level of government, and am obsessively anal- but officially moving a national symbol 1/ 100th across a flag still takes the cake for me! woohooitsme83
I have had a great deal of bureaucratic experience at the highest level of government, and am obsessively anal- but officially moving a national symbol 1/ 100th across a flag still takes the cake for me! but there's also the shape. I think a centered circle would look nicer on a more squared flag, but that's just my opinion.
woohooitsme83
Plus, it's actually quite noticeable if you compare them up-and-down.

runningrings
I think the Australian flag has had minor adjustments over the years, I believe as recently as the 1950s? The shade of navy and positioning of the stars varied a bit after federation .
TorchbearerSydney
The Australian flag was not officially ratified by Parliament until the early 1950s- so very likely it was tweaked. Wish it was replaced.....
Palette86
yes, that's right. but countdown event will be held at the symbol promenade park. ”シンボルプロムナード公園「夢の広場」” ? Countdown event will be held in Yumenohiroba.(9:00 am-12:00pm) . Logo unveiling ceremony will be held in the evening. I'll make a phone call and ask Tokyo Metropolitan Government about it. phandrosis
If you can get the time for the logo unveiling that would be great. If it's evening on the 24th it'll be the early morning that same day for me.
