If Ballroom Dancing is in, and you will accept bitcoins for the Application Fee, then Prague is in!!

Sadly, no ballroom dancing and no bitcoins, Baron!! ;)

INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIC COMMITTEE

The President

To: the Members of the Gamesbid Olympic Family

For immediate release

London, 21 January 2015

Re: Appointment of new IOC Executive Member

The International Olympic Committee has the honour and privilege of announcing that Scotguy has formally been appointed as a member of the IOC Executive Committee. His expertise as a successful manager of previous bids in international sport will prove invaluable to the IOC in this bid process. This follows the recent selection of Sir Rols to the IOC Executive.

Alongside the other members to be chosen, he shall be responsible for evaluating the preliminary and final bid files, whilst making a recommendation in the Evaluation Report on which city shall be hosting the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.

Furthermore, the IOC continues its call for forum members of good standing to volunteer their services for the Exec Committee.

More announcements will be made, as this story develops.

Deciding whether I should pull my bid and join the exec committee or keep my bid in and be judged by Tony...

Keep your bid, Mr Bernham!

I'm currently discussing the two applications with the Exec Cttee members already in place.

To Sir Rols,, Scotguy and ofan: I have/will contact(ed) you. Please make sure your inboxes are cleared...also, since I don't have a Premium acct, mine may run full. In case that happens, please give me a shout - thanks.

Re: Appointment of new IOC Executive Member

The International Olympic Committee has the honour and privilege of announcing that Ofan (Canada) has formally been appointed as a member of the IOC Executive Committee.

Two further applications have been received by the IOC and will be discussed by the current executive. A formal announcement on these applications can be expected in due course.

In the meantime, the Committee asks experienced members of this forum in good standing to apply for the Exec Committee.

In addition, everyone wishing to submit a bid for the 2028 Olympic Games may do so until the deadline of 6 February. Currently, there are four bids: Cairo/Alexandria, New York City, Paris and Sapporo.

@plusbrilliants....I haven't decided yet whether we should accept Scotguy and ofan in the Exec Committee.

Have we take a poll on their popularity??

Edit: I really wonder which will collapse first -- the real Boston bid or this exercise???

Don't worry, Baron - we'll all keep this ship going!

And if all else fails, hey, I'll take you up on that Ougadougou bid! :D

PS: Baron, can you clear your inbox? I've tried to reach you a couple of times...thanks!

Well if I keep my bid I think there should be a public vote. It's GB tradition.

There will be a public vote, Mr Bernham - namely for the final winner, in several rounds if necessary. But that's not until March...

However, the Exec will vote on the preliminary applicant files...provided your bid is solid (which I assume it will be), you and the other Applicant Cities shouldn't find it too difficult to clear that hurdle.

PS: During the last bid competition (2012), there was no public vote at all - neither during the evaluation, nor during the final stage. It's partly due to the discussions back then that I decided to go for a hybrid voting system.

Re: Appointment of new IOC Executive Member

The International Olympic Committee has the honour and privilege of announcing that Baron Pierre IV (United States) has been formally appointed as a member of the IOC Executive Committee.

We look forward to a successful cooperation in the interests of the selection process for the 2028 Olympic Games. The Executive Committee now consists of five members, whose task will be to evaluate the preliminary application files, vote on the elevation of Applicant to Candidate Cities and make recommendations regarding which city should be awarded the 2028 Summer Olympic Games.
