I don't know if this is appropriate because this is use of another persons logo...?

Unless you're "Ryan Burner" of course. :P

Actually just found this,

http://blooangel2000.deviantart.com/art/Santiago-Olympics-Event-Poster-123225336

and both of the logos he entered appear here,

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?p=107073975

... side by side, most likely where they were ripped from.

I definitely object to this.

*better link

http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showpost.php?p=107070447&postcount=114

where the two are displayed side by side.

Bit stuck on what else to add. I know it looks like it was drawn by a 5 year old but i'm not an inkscape expert and i'm not fond of cheating...

If you'd like, I can help out. I'm not great at freehand curves, but when it comes to simple lines, I can help translate it into inkscape, add rings/text, etc. Just send me a PM.

The golden 'arches' symbolise the entry point to Melbourne - the Bolte Bridge and the West Gate. they also symbolise large hills - not mountains as Melbourne doesn't really have any of those. The 'M' shape also symbolises Moorabin and Marybyrnong where the new sports precincts will be built.

This is a completely new concept in sports branding - a really TOP effort I believe.

Meant to be mountains and then upside down mountains... don't ask.

I'd get rid of the pointless A in a circle and put a horizontal white line two thirds of the way up the green mountain to create the A as part of the logo.

Then maybe get rid of the lines top and bottom, and make the coloured triangles graded (easy to do in Inkscape).

Here is my official Anchorage logo, I did use the Chicago Star design to portray the north star. The colors and gradient are inspired by the Aurora Borealis. I do not have a motto yet, but I was thinking either "Paint the Sky" or "Color the World" would be good. So without further ado, I present Anchorage 2022:

Inspired by the Northern Star and the intricate patterns of a snowflake, each of the logo's points represent a component of Anchorage, Alaska, and the United States. The purple is to represent the pointed mountains that surround the landscape of the city. The pink is for the Olympic movement and the future it foretells. The yellow is suppose to look like a anchor; a symbol that defines the city, its economy, and nature. Green is to represent the wildlife found in the lush valleys and hillsides that Alaska treasures. The blue is to emphasize Anchorage's title of a premiere cross-country-ski city. Lastly, the Orange is suppose to show an A; an A for Alaska and an A for Anchorage.

Probably not the final form, so feel free to suggest improvements. I'm starting to get lazy because of Winter break and what not
