The beauty of the 24-team tournament is that it's giving those mid-ranking nations a realistic chance of qualifying, or at least getting into a playoff. You've only got to look at the fact that all th

Must be tough being a Germany fan.

Not qualification but England's first proper opposition in ages as we play Spain tonight. Wales have a good chance for a famous win against the Dutch - & of course, good luck to Ireland against Bosnia away. A draw would be a very good result for them - do away goals count in the playoffs?

... - do away goals count in the playoffs?

yes

...

If the two teams involved in a play-off score the same number of goals over the
two legs, the team which scores more away goals qualifies for the final
tournament. If this procedure does not produce a result, i.e. if both teams score
the same number of goals at home and away, two 15-minute periods of extra
time are played at the end of the second leg. If, during extra time, both teams
score the same number of goals, away goals count double (i.e. the visiting team
qualifies). If no goals are scored during extra time, kicks from the penalty mark
determine which team qualifies for the final tournament (see Article 19).
