I don't know what that fool Blatter is still waiting for. FIFA would still look like an utter fool to insist that 2018 and 2022 continue in the hell holes they were initially assigned to. FIFA should just now live up to the fact that double selection in 2010 was one of this new century's biggest farces. I think they would get more favorable points to actually reverse their STUPID decisions and if not award 2018 to the US (as it should've been anyway); then just force a new vote for 2018. Looks like he will be head of FIFA still 2019 he his running for re-election next year so Russia will be hosting the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Only 2022 would be likely to be moved from Qatar to either USA or Australia. Vladimir Putin is very powerful in the world of sports more powerful then you think I think he could get Russia the 2019 EURO Games in Kazan and 2022 Youth Summer Games to Kazan too and 2028 Winter Youth Games, Berlin Germany could be the next city to host the main summer games in Europe. The last time No. America hosted was 1994. And with 3.5 years to go -- well, 3 if you count the Confederations Cup, which country has the size, infrastructure and stadia ready to go in 2 years' time? Tony, get your England blinders off! I feel Russia should be banned in all the major sports. Nobody needs them in Figure Skating, soccer, volleyball, etc. There are enough other nations and quality teams to strut their stuff. NOT those of a bully and thug nation. Everybody knows that. But that's also how Russia gets its hard-earned cash to buy new jets and mansions for Putin's circle. So, yes, Russia, will make it hard for Europe in the winter...but people always find alternate ways. So they will just speed up exploration in Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco...which are a lot closer to Europe. Your forgetting about Americans wanting to supply gas to Europe. We recognize that is the best way to cut them out and as a citizen of what will be the worlds #1 oil supplier I would be proud to help Europe out in these times of need. Plus Baron mentioned the other alternatives. Then let's not forget green energy. The fact is that as long as the US and Europe have some type of working relationship and going green remains popular, Putin has no power over the EU. Putin may have good relationships with them, but money is the true ruler of the world. Where there is money people will come and there is no doubt in my mind that all three of those nations would ditch Putin to make some money off the EU. Putin's threat of nuclear war is only showing that he senses those connections are weak and that he is paranoid. He understands that his only claim to power is oil, he is finally starting to realize that there are ways around it. He knows that he could not stop pipelines being built over the Mediterranean (is that possible?) and he sure as hell knows that he can never stop US exports to Europe without actually going into a war he would loose.
