Almaty is definitely right on the cusp of being eliminated - however a two horse race (which may still happen) would be somewhat embarrassing to the IOC..

Wow - 5.0 for transport for Beijing? That is the one area it should get a big score. The subway goes everywhere now and the Chinese will build multi-track high speed train line if needed to the ski fields. The one thing I would not be worried about is the transport plan.

Well gee, who would have guessed that Almaty would be so underwhelming. Whether or not the IOC voting members actually take any of this information into consideration, clearly there's a weakest bid of the 3.

Someone needs to remind the Oslo folks this remains theirs to lose if they can just hold on for dear life and make it to the vote (which, after seeing these numbers, IMO seems just a little more likely at this point)

Didn't work for Bavarian voters- who poured cold water on Munich 2022 which would have been as obvious a choice as Los Angeles 1984.

True, but they also dropped out much earlier in the running. That Oslo has lasted this much longer means they're that much closer to the finish line. And you also have the DOSB which would also consider a summer bid. Not a consideration for Norway.

"It represents the unanimous opinion of all members

of the 2022 Working Group as agreed on 9 May 2014"

Any chance we'll see the scores for Krakow and Lviv bids, since they were both prepared before Krakow referendum fiasco and Lviv withdrawal?

And yet I was always chastised by the Almaty cheerleading squad when trying to point that out. Yet here we have the IOC's own working group showing how lacking they really are.

And this also just further illustrates that the short-list is seemingly not just about 'technical scores'. Cause had we had a packed quality field for 2022, like initially expected, with the likes of Munich, Stockholm, St. Moritz, Krakow & perhaps another good surprise bid or two, Almaty would've been done for.

Perhaps a two-horse race could've been embarrassing for the IOC. But then again, still including a bid that's so far away from the other two I don't believe does them any favors either. I mean really, had Lviv not finally (sensibly) withdrawn last week, would the IOC EB included them too, in order not have an 'embarrassing race'.

Oslo (& Norway), these are absolutely your Winter Games, if you want them. You also don't have to over-indulge in this case. You have the upper hand here in this game of Olympic chess.

Yeah, that would be interesting, wouldn't it. To see how close their numbers were in comparison to Almaty. So in that sense, probably nil to none that we'll get to see those numbers.

With the shocking support for Oslo Norway just 36% I don;t think the people of Norway will care less about the score they clearly don't want the games and an one governing party is against the the bid, All but 1 Youth divisions of Political Parties are against the bid this is an slow and painful death for Oslo 2022 bid, Norway people is not like Japan people were the government was pushing for the 2020 bid in Japan and Japanese are respectful of the governments policy unlike in Norway where is an private group pushing for the bid.

Its way too soon for Norway to host again and they are hosting the 2016 Youth Winter Games leave it for another Generation or 2 then to host another Winter Games is the best way that an Norway winter Olympics Games happen again. So this race is between Almaty Kazakhstan and Beijing China for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics Games.

Just like China Hosted 2008 and will Host 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games and Kazakhstan Hosted the 2011 Asian Winter Games?
