Faster 545
So we are down to the final four nations. Brazil vs. Germany Argentina vs. Netherlands These 4 nations combined represent: 10 Titles 21 Finals Appearances 30 Semi-Finals Appearances Predictions, thoughts? Also it seems like a good time to start the discussion of the Golden Ball, Boot, Gloves and Best Young Player Awards. Oh and Danny rank Germany, Argentina and Netherlands on how much each would infuriate Brazilians to see hold the trophy at the end? Alexjc 354
As much as I want Brazil to win, I feel Germany will be too strong unless Brazil treats this match as THE final and play beyond their individual names. I'm with Argentina for the second semi, simply because an all west European final in South America would be weird. The minor final, although good, isn't as thrilling. Athan 47
I'll definitely be supporting the Netherlands to win it all. They're yet to win a World Cup whereas the other three semifinalists have already won several each.
DannyelBrazil 703
Oh and Danny rank Germany, Argentina and Netherlands on how much each would infuriate Brazilians to see hold the trophy at the end? If Brazil loses to Netherlands the final, people will be crying in the streets and Brazil probably will enter a mourning of 4 years. If Germany-Netherlands final happens, eash Brazilian will pick one of both to root and pretty normal final. If Germany plays against Argentina, Germany will get 200 million additional support for final match. If Argentina wins Germany, it'll be a catatrophe and the risk of fights inside the stadium will be huge. A Brazil-Argentina final will be the armaggedon. If Brazil wins, the biggest party ever seen on Earth. If Brazil loses: war and I get really concerned about public safety. For you guys abroad, Brazil-Argentina final sill be the most entertaining football match ever. For us it'll be the end of world... If Copa America matches between Brazil and Argentina are already wars... Imagine an World Cup final... Gosh. Please Netherlands, avoid it.

baron-pierreIV 1700
It's difficult to handicap the remaining 3 games at this point. It could come down to PKs again. Where's Paul the octupus when u need him?

Where's Paul the octupus when u need him? Actually, there is Officially 4 Games remaining. 2 Semi-Finals (Brazil VS Germany at the Stadium Mineirao, Belo Horizonte), (Holland VS Argentina at the Arena Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo). 1 3rd/4th Place Play-Off (Loser of Semi-Final 1 VS Loser of Semi-Final 2 at the National Stadium, Brasilia). The Final (Winner of Semi-Final 1 VS Winner of Semi-Final 2 at the Maracana Stadium, Rio De Janeiro).

Alexjc 354
Tony, 3rd/4th used to be a qualification for the next WC, the top three teams got a free pass...But It's more about Fifa prize money these days. Same goes for next year's Rugby WC. More the ranking now that all teams from the quarters now qualify for the following tournament.
Tony E Loves Architecture 168
I believe the 3rd and 4th Place Play-Offs matter. It shows you finished that little bit higher.

gotosy 493
Mexico's Marco Rodriguez to referee Brazil-Germany semifinalThe referee who failed to see Luis Suarez bite an opponent has been picked to officiate Brazil's World Cup semifinal against Germany. FIFA says on its website that Marco Rodriguez of Mexico will referee the match in Belo Horizonte on Tuesday. Rodriguez has handled two World Cup matches, including Uruguay's 1-0 win against Italy on June 24. Suarez's bite of Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini's shoulder went unseen and unpunished by the Mexican match officials. FIFA later banned Suarez for nine international matches and four months from all football activity. He has appealed. Earlier, Rodriquez showed Italy midfielder Claudio Marchisio a red card for a serious foul. FIFA says Mark Geiger of the United States will be fourth official for the match. He was also fourth official for Uruguay vs. Italy. http://msn.foxsports.com/soccer/story/marco-rodriguez-to-referee-brazil-germany-semifinal-match-belo-horizonte-070614

zekekelso 794
I'd like to see a German / Dutch final. Mostly because I want to see Brazil play Argentina, but I think if they met in the final, it would be just too much.
