Well looking at how the stage is coming out I kinda can tell now Filmaster is doing this.

WO-ITaly.jpg

I just hope they dont make that stage too small. For me that was what kinda killed the Torino ceremony.

Looks like it's a hexagonal or octagonal stage. And that dark area where people who need glasses are insisting is black water, is the shadow of the elevated stage. But then again, the Brazilians here say I know too much.

Baron, I don´t think brazilian think you know too much. We are all guessing here and brazilians are all newbies, when it comes to Opening Ceremonies. But you, you wrote a book on this subject!

And I also would say that we are just supposing. But what happens here is that you always think that our ideas are bad ones. But yours, no, they're untouchtables.

Bad news: Rio de Janeiro's Governor declared today "a state of calamity", which means that the state is broken and has no money to meet its payments, inlcuding employees. The Federal Government ii to contribute with an amount of R$ 2.9 billion (about US $ 850 million) for the completion of the metro's line 4 and the payment of unpaid wages. The money will also be used to pay public servants until August. Good news is President Temer has guaranteed the Federal Government will financially support the Games.

Well, Federal support is on the Bid Book. If the comitte, Rio city hall or Rio state government needs any money to things related to the games the Federal Government have to provide the money that s need. I read that for Metro Line 4 they had already consulted the finance's minister Henrique Meirelles for support. And the interim president had said that the government will pay for everything Rio needs for the games.

Not really untouchable, as I have studied the genre for years, and I know how the IOC operates and thinks insofar as these matters, so I can pretty much guess the limits of what they will allow, and what the producers have dreamed up -- thus, the compromise middle ground that is reached and which is the result of certain processes. That's really all I'm saying. I'm just bringing things down to a realistic level. Thus, I apologize for shooting down some of the far-flung ideas....but let's see what unfolds on August 5th. ;)

I agree with my Brazilian colleagues.
We believe that your participation will greatly enrich the debate. I know we is utopian at times, but it is only the desire to show that we are also great to the world.

Now I leave a question at all.
Watching the pictures of Maracana, if that part is black water, as athletes will make the parade of nations? Go walk on water?

Well, Olympic rings formed by people is safer than using mechanical equipment. The last three Olympics, two had mechanical equipment failures rings or torch (Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014).

Although rings formed by people is disappointing ... it's as if we were in the 80s.

Better than a failure that would be used as a symbol of the troubled organization of Rio 2016.

All editions of the Olympic Games faced difficulties. All of them had troubled times. Rio would not be the exception. There were failures here and there will probably be more one until the end of the games. It was the same in previous editions. But you can be sure everything will work out. Much better than many people think.

About the olympic rings I think it's a good idea to make them with people. Do you remember the video "unity" from candidature? It was produced by Fernando Meirelles, one of the directors of the ceremonies.

About the concept at all, I think they will show a modern Rio. The video from the coreographer (Deborah Colker) some guy posted here keeps clear that they will show some part of Brazil's history. Else, the style of Colker is contemporary dance. They showed some part at the FIFA Confederations Cup Brasil 2013 opening ceremony.

Not so disappointing if the rings of people are formed vertically !

But most importantly, rings made by humans must be done in near perfect circles. If you're going do to a sadass half-assed job like they did in Atlanta, then don't even try it. Just be cheap and bring a big giant Olympic rings flag.

I am SO SICK you asshole putting down ATLANTA. Like a twat like you could do any better. They certainly got it right in Atlanta. What about Sochi? You're such a pure JACKASS!!

Does it look similar to his, doesn´t it?

You can't tell at a distance. The BC Place infield was also small. So they're probably, roughly about the same size.

If done vertically the olympic rings will be amazing.

Who said the Olympic rings formed by humand are 80's style???

Not at all!!!!

Just remember

SOCHI CC

sochi-rings-2-600.jpg

SINGAPORE YOG OC

We_Are_The_World_4.jpg

ATHENS CC

ATHENS+2004+Closing+Ceremony+Rings+Reute

Sochi wanted to make rings of snowflakes, but it did not work. Then we had this end, whether or not improvised not matter. The summit failed when the ring did not open.
The Singapore at least in this picture was not good.
The Athens 2004 happened, okay, but not surprising. Incidentally, Athens 2004 had no memory of the spectators rings Beijing and London.
Viewers saw the masterpieces in London and Beijing, and now will see rings formed by people like in Singapore or Sochi? Oh, I think it will be disappointing.

BC PLACE gave many opportunities for the ceremony, yet found the opening tedious Vancouver. But a space that size has potential.

This is video of 'Rio 2016: The Rings in Copacabana' The rings appear from 2:50

Was good? Yes. But for an application, not an opening Olympics.

All those you mentiones are made by TECHNOLOGY.... of course they'll be perfect!!!! If we talk about humans is another thing and I think it's even greater!!!!
