brasilolimpico
Where's the speculation about the final torch bearer/cauldron lighter? Or is Pele inevitable? Pelé is likely. But I also think a great competitor would be the marathoner Vanderley Cordeiro de Lima ( silver in Athens 2004) , for what happened to him when he was fumbling in the race when he was leader. He is well known in Brazil ( I 've seen it personally ) . I just hope that is not like London .

I hate this idea . I was thinking here ... I think Vanderley Cordeiro is the absolute favorite to ascend the cauldron . Pele is the greatest Brazilian player of all time , but never in Olympics . The exact moment that it is pushed When leading a 2004 Athens marathon.
Mauricio
Yes, the national anthem is very beautiful. But I do not think Caetano Veloso singing the chapel is a good idea . The National Anthem will not be associated with the president. But the tune ' The Guarani . But it is certain that there will be boos . - As the presence of Dilma is important to announce that the protocol will not announce its presence , it will be done only for Temer. I hate this tropicalia stuff as much as I hate leftism. Let him sing the Anthem in his house's bathroom. 2- I really don't care about who is going to be booed in Maracanã. I am sure that both Dilma AND Temer will be booed if they are there. 3- BTW, the OC is a show for outsiders, not for insiders. IMO, a very humble one, most tickets have probabily been sold to foreigners. If it is the case, they won´t have any kind of problem by mentally relating this song with whatever it can possibly be related with by an average brazilian. I understand that the Olympic spectacle is for a global audience. But I believe that most of the public will be Brazilian in the stadium. Yes indeed it is antagonized both Temer as Dilma . But I wanted to focus on the possibility of the head of state to open the games, the possibility was raised in 2014 and used during the World Cup . As for music , I understand that the world does not know its meaning. I understand that the Olympic spectacle is for a global audience. So, basically it's a repeat of Vancouver?. I hope they don't pull a big lipped alligator moment with Wayne Gretzky being carried in a car to the outdoor cauldron. I hope they don't pull a big lipped alligator moment with Wayne Gretzky being carried in a car to the outdoor cauldron. I do not doubt . After Caetano Veloso be chosen to run the ' National Anthem ' , it is likely to do more this incorrect decision . What to acceptable would be to move the cauldron for the Athletics Olympic Stadium. But ok , do as Vancouver. So far only brought disappointment information about the opening . I'm afraid . Guys, a spokesperson already denied the claims that Caetano would sing the National Anthem at the Opening Ceremony. Oh really? This is a wise decision ! Oh really? This is a wise decision ! Oooswald
Yep. Caetano will probably sing something at the Opening Cereromy, since he's one of the best-known Brazilian singers, but not the National Anthem.

brasilolimpico
Sim. Caetano provavelmente vai cantar algo no Cereromy Abertura, já que ele é um dos cantores brasileiros mais conhecidos, mas não o Hino Nacional. The style of music it is very quiet . I would like something more excited for the ceremony. Building on the subject: The samba and the carnival will be present at the opening , but how will the clothes of the dancers ? Will they ask for modifications compared to traditional broadcasters because of Arab countries?
Mauricio
Well, finally we returned discuting the ceremony itself. I couldn´t find the video you mentioned. But I think Maracanã doesn't have the structural features needed to do something similar to what is shown in these pictures. Of course, they will find an appropriate solution for their plans. They don´t lack creativity. But creativity is something, miracle is another one.

It's an international event, half of the worlf popullation is going to watch it, including some countries where some kinds of clothes are considered inappropriate or offensive. For sure, the IOC has guided the guys in issues like this one.

brasilolimpico
I'm afraid of opening be ' resource-poor ' . The Maracana not have much structure to a large ceremony. The fireworks at the World Cup damaged the roof of the stadium , which seems to have no profile to support a cauldron. The inputs to the field are small , which will hinder the flow of athletes in the nation's parade will be 30 minutes long , as reported by the organizers some time. stage transitions will also be slower . The Parade of Athletes at London 2012 lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes, if confirmed 30 more minutes of Rio will be 2 hours and 10 minutes. In a party that promises to last 3 hours and 45 minutes to London. If we count the speeches will not have much space for presentations. How will that Rio will present the rings ? I think forming the Olympic rings using trash found in the waters that events such as sailing and rowing will use is a perfect idea! At the very least they'll be doing some water cleaning that they completely gave up doing.
paul
Seoul did it spectacularly. In addition, his art work shows the positive power of inventiveness to transform urban areas with diminishing natural aesthetic. In 2008, Choi Jeong Hwa surprised the world with an incredibly large and colorful art installation made of discarded plastic, which were hanged from the structure of the 2008 Happy Happy Seoul Design Olympic Stadium at the gigantic Jamsil Sports Complex. Whether or not it is the absolute biggest eco art installation, there's no denying that the Happy Happy is still impressive even for today standards — it took 488 dump trucks, 40 days, 1,763,360 pieces of plastic, and some 3,600 people, to create. By "garbage art" standards, it is massive. Even retail chains and banks around the city pitched in and offered collection centers at their locations. yoshi
That Seoul installation is really nice - did they take it down? Also, we put a lesbian kiss in our OC & that got past the Saudis so I don't think they'll need to make too many alternative arrangements
