Is it just me, or were there a LOT of US fans in the stadium?

USA has an influence in Brazil and that natural "keep it in the Americas family" in play as well. And the fact that an international team USA sends out to a major tournament serms to be an underdog if it isn't Basketball or Hockey.

HAHAHAHAHA! It's hardly because of that. :lol: The US is one of the countries with more tickets to this cup and tons of american fans are everywhere. Plus, Natal served as an American air base during WWII (Parnamirim Field) and old people there still hold some memories of that time. Brazil is usually more Africa-friendly because of our strong cultural ties.
