Salt Lake by a mile.

Having the flame in a glass cauldron with water running down its sides simulating melting ice put the cauldron right in line with the Light the Fire Within motto of the 2002 Winter Games and echoed the design of the torch and medals. No other cauldron in Olympic history has been as inspired.

I had never thought of this before - but if push came to shove - it would be Albertville 1992. So beautiful - would be spectacular if it were larger (or even part of a more iconic Olympics).

Honourable mention to Grenoble 1968, Salt Lake City 2002, Turin 2006 and Sochi 2014.

Vancouver is easily the most ridiculous and awkward of any recent cauldron.
