The Baton at old Trafford

Nice getting Robson involved, but you'd think they could've had most famous Glaswegian in Britain (no, not Billy Connolly) pose with the Baton at OT.

Seeing the 2002 Baton next to the 2014 one, I know its different times but the Manchester baton looks very cheap.

Was going to post something similar earlier. It doesn't look cheap, but it does look of its time. It's like looking at a minidisc player.

I disagree, the 14 baton is what is in vogue now...relaxed and easy. These batons got sillier over time just proving the one upmanship that finally crashed and burned in 2010.

The Glasgow baton is a fresh rebirth of a theme that got thrashed to death.

Queen's Baton relay arrives in Scotland

The Queen's Baton Relay has arrived in Scotland as it begins a 40-day tour of the host country ahead of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

The baton, the Commonwealth's version of the Olympic torch, has travelled about 100,000 miles and visited 69 nations and territories since October.

Triple gold medallist Daley Thompson handed the baton to Scottish athlete Eilidh Child on the border at Coldstream bridge at 07:45.

The baton is now heading to Edinburgh.

Edinburgh will be the first Scottish city to welcome the baton, with more than 100 local baton-bearers lined up to carry it.
