Over the next 3 weeks post your own design in this thread. You are not allowed to use someone else's design or sketches. You must design Rio 2016 Olympic Torch in 3 weeks. It will be great if you can comeout with the cauldron design too but the cauldron design will not be count as part of the judgement in this competition. Please don't enter something you designed outside this time period.
Use any software you like. You can sketch manually,or using any technology methods, such as bamboo pad, adobe photoshop,illustrator,3dsmax,sketchup,or any rendering programme but everything must be your own work.Any plagiarism work will disqualified your submission.
maximum 1 entry per member.maximum 4 images only for final submission in JPEG or PNG
Your images must be no larger than 1024 pixels wide.
Use as much of the next 3 weeks as you like to do all your work, and if you want to post on the last day... that's fine. The thread will close on 18th March 2014 at midnight British Standard Time.
The POLL for the winning entry will last for 7 days only.
Any questions post them in this thread please folks.

Ais, you should also mention that the design has to be realistic in that they will go into rectangular boxes that are then shipped out. So it can't be any idiotic, outlandish design that won't fit into the normal torch boxes.

You should allow a maximum of THREE entries. And then let the board decide which ones should advance to the Final round.

i think this competition will be disaster if the 'twins' issue is still going around..so please stop raising the twin issue as any personal thing just pm me directly..i dont want to ruin this competition with the same issue again and again.I dont want this competition to be complicated so every contestant just have to send only their best design as a final submission.

everyone can post their design as many as they want in this thread but they need to choose only one best design to representing their final submission before 18 march 2014 that then will be decide through public poll..

I think the CWG logo comp came too soon for me after Rols' annual Olympic logo comp. But now we've got Sochi done and dusted and the board's probably going to go into a bit of a lull, I think I might have a go at this.

Just need an idea...

Okay here goes. Again please tell me if these images are too big or something.

This is my torch from three angles, lit and not lit

<iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/118718947@N08/12784865283/player/ea2bfdec9e" height="241" width="500" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe>

It is based on the moving, linked, human figures of the Rio 2016 logo. It is meant to look like the three arms holding up the flame. It is completely transparent so you can see the gas cannister and gas tubes inside. each arm is lit up from the inside with LED's of the three logo colours. The transparency symbolises the games being completely transparent. The top of the torch that contains the flame and other parts of that run the torch is a metallic black to avoid black markings (seen at the end of Vancouvers and Sochis torches) on the torch during use.

<iframe src="https://www.flickr.com/photos/118718947@N08/12784864293/player/2d32c0eb71" height="152" width="500" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen></iframe>

These are posters of the flame in use.

And this is the Olympic Torch Relay Logo with obvious links to the torch.

I hope you enjoy my torch. It is now officially entered (unless the image sizes are wrong then get in touch with me) :)

Sorry lets see if this works.

Here is my entry:

torch.png

The design of this torch has been inspired by the curved shapes of the logos. The colours represent the green and yellow of Brazil, whilst still maintaining a more sleek design.

The green curved part represent a leaf and the nature of Brazil

I will post more pics shortly, but just wanted to get the entry in.

At least in my view it shows the Olympic logo next to the lit torch and the paralympic logo next to the unlit torch. That's a bit harsh. Lol. :) (Just saying, we're keeping this friendly.)

Anyone every done a "design a ceremony" contest?

That is something all too abstract to weigh fairly considering the under-30 age demographic here and the even more infantile mentality of some posters who can't even spell 'work' properly.

Then why would you even say such a thing?

Humour. Just humour.

Who can't spell work?
