Rio 2016 Tickets

latest update on cosport Australian site

Please excuse the late notice but in the interest of delivering the best possible Individual Ticket sales experience, we have decided to postpone our next ticket sales phase (previously scheduled for May 19, 2015).

An unforeseen technical issue was identified in our final rounds of testing that will require more time to resolve than we have before the intended launch We remain committed to providing fans uncomplicated access to Individual Tickets and believe the issue we have identified threatens that experience.

No alternative date/time for the next Individual Ticket sales phase has been decided though we will of course share our plans as soon as possible here on the CoSport website as well as via email.

We sincerely appreciate your understanding and patience as we resolve the technical issues identified this evening – should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the CoSport team at your convenience.

Got the email at 5am PST about postponing sales. Now we wait....

Spoke with someone last week about shipping charges... they said if you ship to one address they can probably make it so you only have to pay that charge once.

It was $35 for the tix I got in the request phase. But they are holding on to the tickets, and another friend is also buying tickets so hopefully by the end of it all we will only have to pay one fee for shipping.

But I can't be the only one who's dubious about any meaningful improvement.

Of course not. This happens every time. Cosport is not only corrupt, they are incompetent.

My advise for everyone is to log into their account from time to time and not wait for an email. While you would expect they would send out an announcement first, then turn the system on.... this is Cosport we are talking about. The good news is we can turn their ineptitude to our advantage.

I did 2 separate orders (so i got tickets before it crashed again) and 2nd order came up with message that this order will be shipped with other order so only one ridiculous AU$47 delivery fee.

Nice you were able to get some before it crashed... In the US, 2 hours before the sales were live they cancelled it, so now we are waiting to see what they do to handle this....

Saw you got a swim final-very cool!! I'm hoping to get some swimming ones whenever they let us buy them :-p

Is there a chance that Aust ticket sales used some of the USA and others allocation of tickets by mistake hence the quick shut down and delay in any USA live sales?

We all know a 10 year old could probably set up a ticket sales system better than cosport.

I think you are onto something there Hobart. I could not see CoSport get enough tickets for swimming ever in Australia and I have hardly heard of anyone ever buying them as a ticket lottery product. It might have been late where I was but I could see on the cosport site when they went live in Australia there was lots of events including swimming.

Cartan have gone live now and kingdom sports is also selling theirs as well. Just have to be creative to purchase from these guys

As a resident of the United States, the only place to buy tickets now is from CoSport. Close to the games, there will be one last round of tickets sold through rio2016 that will be open to residents of every country.

Hi, thats the first I've heard non- residents will be allowed to buy tickets, do you have a source. If so, that's very good news as normally a lot of tickets go on sale at the last round and they are much cheaper on the Rio site than on Cosport.

Ignore, I've found the wording in the ticket guide

Both residents and non-residents will also be
able to purchase any remaining tickets at our

ticket box offices from June 2016 onwards

Interesting though it says purchases only at ticket box offices. So I wonder if they will allow online.

The tickets that will be sold by Rio 2016 were supposed to happen this year from December, but what I heard is that one of the ATRs mentioned here took them on and won their case, so ROCOG had to change it to June 2016 and only if the ATRs don't want the tickets anymore. It has something to do with the exclusivity contracts that were signed by the ATRs

Sportsworld sales have started

https://brazil2016.sportsworld.co.uk/

Just applied for OC, swimming, cycling, tennis and beach volleyball. It's a bit rough though because you have to pay upfront immediately, and are then refunded if you're unsuccessful in any (probably all) requests. Would be happy just to get beach volleyball but I think even that's unlikely. I'd potentially want to go for some more but having already forked out over a grand it might be a bit of a stretch. Anyone else applying for sportsworld?

Still waiting on cosports to open up their live sales!! It's been more than a week, and all of these other sellers are open, so frustrating!!

Good luck to everyone and as it gets closer I heard it's easier to get tickets you want...

Does anyone know if there's a place to go online to trade tickets?

Cause we're planning on purchasing a few, but would be open to trading depending on what we get and what we prefer.

i found in London twitter was the best option as i sold ad traded a few tickets successfully. the best was a person called vooly or something like that but stupidly i unfollowed him after the games thinking i will never need that again.

Twitter is a good way, if a bit chaotic.

You're thinking of @volshy. He is going to Rio along with lots of his group

CoSport accidentally released tickets this morning in an accidental live sale (no really). Some people managed to make purchases.

If Cosport honour those sales, a number of the premier tickets have already gone
