Rio 2016 Tickets

Recommended Posts

Wonder if they will have separate / higher prices for foreigners? If they don't it will completely shut down ATR sales.

I don t think so.

Earlier the tickets were costing the same for Brazilians and foreigners, only the ATR could collect about 20 % commission , and this time the price was fixed in relation 2.35 reais to the dollar . Now , one US dollar cost 3.57 reais , for it is said that the cost for Brazil is lower than for foreigners. From June 1 , anyone can buy the box office, but sales are in reais. The site will not sell at a different price at the box office . If ATRs can not compete they can return unsold tickets . CoSport tried in vain to renegotiate the conditions of the contract , but had the option of using real currency and as they did not want . Some ATRs negotiated in Brazilian currency and made a lot of money. ATRs doesn t sell only tickets. They have hospitality packs, hotels pack, and, they sold many tickets, especially in USA. And have the You have the right to do this in RIO2016, Tokio2020, London2012, .... so they doesn t lost money...

Looks like for basketball the marquee games are mostly being scheduled in the 14:30 slot...Do you think these are still subject to change? Why would they have Brazil and USA playing most of their games midday instead of in the evenings or late games?

Rio 2016 unveiled the 'look' of the tickets for the Olympic and Paralympic Games on Friday (20 May) morning at the organising committee's headquarters. And the colourful yet practical designs will soon be winging their way out to sports fans around the world who have bought tickets to the Games.

"From 1pm (Brasília time) today, the tickets will begin to be sent out from the graphic design company and somewhere in the world someone will receive the first ticket," said Rio 2016 President Carlos Nuzman.

The tickets feature the Rio 2016 sport pictograms, which for the first time in Games history, have one for each Olympic and Paralympic sport.

The tickets are being produced by the same graphic design company in the USA that produced the tickets for the London 2012 Olympic Games. Staff at the company, which has 30 years of experience in ticket production, "live to produce tickets" said Donovan Ferreti, the Rio 2016 ticketing director.

More than four million tickets for the Olympic Games – 67% of the total available – have already been sold. Two million tickets remain on sale and every Thursday a new batchs of tickets, including for some of the most sought-after events, are going on sale to Brazilian residents.

"We will want to tell our grandchildren about the Rio 2016 Game and these are also our tickets to history," said Mário Andrada, executive director of communications at Rio 2016.

https://ingressos.rio2016.com/tservice.dll?affiliate=OGF&fun=thelpcontent&doc=feature/helpContact/details&katid=6220&hilfeid=8069&hb_id=6082&by_area=true&areaCount=1 , I don t understand why in the portuguese they say "Junho" (June in english) and in the english page July, makes sense sell tickets in box offices and online same time... e-tickets are now available for brazilians shops and ATRs released many tickets to sell before open the site for foreigners.

Extremely confusing. It clearly says "June" in the original language version, but says "July" everywhere I can find reference to it in English.

I would call someone at the ticketing center in Rio about this (using my limited Portuguese, and their limited English), but my previous interactions with them have led me to believe that the people who answer the phones there don't have much information, and what information they do have is sometimes incorrect.

Cosport Canada also released a lot of tickets

I add to my collection :

GA008A Gymnastic Final (Men's team)

SW003A Swimming qualifications

AT005A Athletics Finals (Men's 100m)

I also took by mistake CT007A, I allready bought ticket for that event before.

Unfortunelly for me, no RO006 and RO007 (Rowing Finals)

HUGE unannounced drop of tickets by CoSport today.

Was able to add a center-court Tennis (men's QF), Gymnastics apparatus finals, Football final, and Handball final. Many still left, including ceremonies, so hurry on over there.

Perhaps they're selling these off in advance of the coming open sale by Rio 2016 organizers, which will severely undercut their markup & exchange rate?

Does anyone know if Ilya Ilyin will compete in 94kg (WL018) class or 105kg (WL021) class?

Could you guys recommend me the best class to go? It will be my first time watching weightlifting and have not decide yet what class to buy it.

It can't be known for certain yet, since final nominations for Weightlifting won't be made until mid-July. All that's known now is that Kazakhstan has qualified for the right to have a lifter in both of those weight classes. But it looks like he's been competing at 105 for the past 2 years.

This is the best map yet I have seen that I can actually relate to, in terms of the vastness of the aRIo landscape and how far I had to travel to get to Olympic Park.

rio-tourist-map-2-770.jpg

http://www.riohere.com/pictures/rio-tourist-map-1600.jpg

So for those who haven't gotten an idea of how vast Rio is; on the left is where the Barra neighborhood is (where the OV will also be). And on the pic's right is downtown and Copacabana Beach where I imagine most of the major hotels are, and where, therefore, most of the foreign visitors coming in will be staying. So, I had to take the express Blue Bus from extreme right, along the shore, on to Alvorado Bus Depot there in Barra; then change to the BRT-10 (I think it was) for another 10-min express bus to Oly. Park. So the new Metro Line 4 will replace that first long bus ride -- but barring delays, that will probably be a 35-min ride. vs. the 50-min ride on the 2018 Express Bus.

I.e., there is NO tunnel that cuts directly underneath that whole green area which would probably have cut travel times between downtown/Copa/Ipenema and the Barra and Deodoro areas in half. But that would probably take 20 years to construct; and you would be riding in tunnels for nearly or over an hour--which no one wants.

Cosports currently have track cycling tickets available. Also still some swimming afternoon sessions and opening B seats.

I suggest checking twice a day if you looking for something as stuff is being added all the time.
