cslopes54 36
I think the look is very pretty but the fireworks are not Olympic quality
intoronto 650
The rings are back! LOOL the ones that didn't work on the floor.
Citius Altius Fortius 560
... the lightning of the cauldron looked nice at the end - it was a pitty that the square was empty - it would have been nicer, when the cast would have stand there, too
Olympian2004 511
Now that was a hugely anti-climatic cauldron lighting - I expected a LOT more special effects, especially after that amazing imagery during the ceremony. And Rodnina and Tretyak are a return to "Well, let one or two of our older famous Olympians do the honours". Quite disappointing, if you ask me. That could have been the cauldron lighting of some Summer Universiade, and even there we have seen better already.
jimjam 12
a bit of a boring lighting
tpman 2
The Olympic rings again!
Faster 545
Overall nothing was incredibly original about the Opening Ceremony. Co-opting elements from Atlanta, Sydney, Athens, Beijing and Vancouver. But it lacked 'heart', fun and joy. It was just really well done, while being safe. 7/10
