Universal Posted February 7, 2014 Report Share Posted February 7, 2014 I learned only now of the fifth ring malfunction - now that's almost equally embarrassing as Vancouver's cauldron malfunction. The "Olympic Rings" segment is always such an iconic one in an opening ceremony, it's popular stock footage for later Olympic reviews or reports. Oh well, let's hope that at least their cauldron lighting mechanism works... The Cauldron has been tested and tested and re-tested so hopefully it will work.
