intoronto Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Here is the place, where we can meet to talk about the Opening Ceremony in London - let's share our thoughts, views and of course the fun!!! - CAF
SkiFreak Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 See it starts at 8:00 am MST. Darn. I'll be at work (and I just had 3 sick days ). Hopefully CBC will have a Primetime encore broadcast in the evening. If not, I'll have to watch it online or on YouTube.
PyroKinesis Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'll find a way to watch it live. One way or another.
Sir Rols Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Here is the place, where we can meet to talk about the Opening Ceremony in London LOL! Sure you're not Tony?
Gangwon Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'll be at that inconvenient thing they call Work. It's times like this I miss being a student.
Sir Rols Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'm still in two minds about whether I'll watch it live or record it. It starts after 2am here - really inconvenient between getting up early or staying up late. It's an all-nighter, or watch it over breakfast.... Actually, who am I kidding! Yeah, I'll most likely not be able to contain myself from staying up to watch. I'll probably restrict GBids chatting to ad breaks and the parade of nations though.
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'll be setting the alarm for 2AM Saturday morning. Participating in my second opening ceremony live chat.
Citizen-Seth Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 If I can figure out how to stream it in the US, I'll be around for this. Gonna take off one morning from the gym and give it a watch.
baron-pierreIV Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'm buying a new HD TV tomorrow. Time to change my old one--already 7.5 yrs. old.
Sir Rols Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I'm buying a new HD TV tomorrow. Time to change my old one--already 7.5 yrs. old. Nice time to upgrade and nice time to Christen the new set!!! Cool viewings, M!
Citius Altius Fortius Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I will be here too @ GB-technique freaks, I bought a new TV set (HD ready) for Beijing 2008 and I wanted to buy a new one for Sochi (HD full and 3D), but I couldn't decide which one - I like SONY KDL-40W905A and SONY KDL-42W805A (I know larger is better, but larger ones wouldn't be good for my living room)... Any suggestions, which TV set is good?
intoronto Posted February 5, 2014 Author Report Posted February 5, 2014 ffs! That happens when you copy paste
PyroKinesis Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 You copy and pasted a 2 sentence opening post? Are you really that lazy?
Mr Tickle Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Im planning a russian themed day Friday and was going to have chicken kiev until my other half pointed out it wasn't in Russia. LOL Whats a good russian meal to partake of while I digest the opening ceremony, is anyone else doing anything special on Friday?
Gangwon Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I wanted to skip work, but work skip me.
Olympian2004 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Actually we wanted to use the opening ceremony thread as live chat thread, but whatever...
Gangwon Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 I wouldn't have known. I think you need to put a "live chat" in the title, otherwise all I see with the other thread is one started months ago.
Sir Rols Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 Actually we wanted to use the opening ceremony thread as live chat thread, but whatever... There's bound to be sundry other OC threads created after the event anyway. Probably is good, as Ganwon pointed out, to have "Live Chat" in the title - easier to find and browse through in future.
aismanggo Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 12.14am malaysia time, cant wait!no live broadcast from tv since malaysia not a winter country but im so excited to see the opening ceremony!
Tony E Loves Architecture Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 16:14 UK time here in London, England. Live Broadcast. Opening Ceremony will be brilliant.
Ikarus360 Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Our national TV will cover Sochi 2014, surprisingly which is good news they will transmit the events, including the opening ceremony tomorrow (I guess they skipped Vancouver because we didn't even qualified back then ). Still, I wont be able to watch it live I hope they re transmit it when i'm back. Aw well, there are always ways to watch it fully later.
Tatsh Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 I'll go to the doctor earlier than i do, just for see the OC, which will be broadcasted on TV for the first time for a WOG.
ofan Posted February 7, 2014 Report Posted February 7, 2014 Anyone with last minute guesses on the final torchbearer? My money is still on Tretiak.
