zekekelso Posted February 19, 2014 Report Posted February 19, 2014 We have a bunch of cable channels in the US that were formed to focus on the arts, etc. Now they pretty much all show non-stop "reality" programs in which horrible people act horribly. Fortunately, they haven't infected the Olympics yet.
Brekkie Boy Posted February 22, 2014 Report Posted February 22, 2014 Although NBC structure their Olympics coverage more like a reality show than a sports broadcast nowadays.
BTHarner Posted February 25, 2014 Report Posted February 25, 2014 For the handful of us who found the musical piece triumphant and inspiring, there are a number of postings of it on Youtube and it can also be found on soundcloud. The composer Is Maxim Bobkov.
hektor Posted February 26, 2014 Report Posted February 26, 2014 For the first time as far as I can remember the figure skating medal ceremonies were not at the end of the competition, but on the medal plaza like the other events. Is it known whether this is something which will last or was it a Sochi exception ?

Is it known whether this is something which will last or was it a Sochi exception ? The men's hockey medals were handed out at the Hockey arena w/o even the benefit of the risers. It really depends on the federation and how they want it executed.
