There's going to be some more coming next year in part thanks to all of the conference reshuffling and new schools coming in. A new rule was enacted in May by the NCAA Legislative Council allows a 6-6 football team to be bowl eligible if it makes to a conference championship even if said teams loses with no need of a NCAA waiver. Four new bowl games are coming next year with the Camillia Bowl in Montgomery, Alabama pitting a Sun Belt school versus a MAC representative. Miami gets another bowl again with the Miami Beach Bowl to be played at Marlins Park having an American Athletic school as hosts. A third, the Boca Raton Bowl played at Florida Atlantic University Stadium, will have a third Mid-American team playing against a Conference USA school. The fourth and final ones will be played in Nassau, Bahamas believe it or not, known as the Bahamas Bowl, picking up the mantle of being a college football bowl game outside the US since Toronto's International Bowl. It could get to the point of having bowl organizers to get normally and otherwise ineligible teams to fill them up. There was even discussion of a Los Angeles getting the Los Angeles Christmas Bowl, a throwback to the old LA Christmas Festival at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. There was even proposed bowls like the Cure Bowl in Orlando at UCF's Bright House Stadium and unnamed ones in Toronto, Little Rock, Dublin, Detroit, and even in Dubai--still hope for a Toronto bowl return. The College Football Playoff slated for next year will use two national semifinals rotated among with Rose and Sugar, Orange and Fiesta, along with the Cotton and Peach Bowls and a championship game played at a neutral site two weeks later. The Rose and Sugar Bowls will be the two permanent games played on January 1, while the other four will play on December 31.
