Ok I PM you. Sorry for late reply.

Here's your logo. I think it didn't work for you before because i was an .svg file (I learn a lot about various file formats each comp). Sites like imageshack work best with jpegs and gifs etc.

What happened to the top of the Logo Sir Rols? The Bit that said Toronto 2026?

As I mentioned to you via PM, the image I got sent didn't seem to have the type you mentioned. And I can't open it now because the trial Adobe Illustrator license I opened it with yesterday has expired (and I'm not buying it).

Anyone able to help? The version sent to me was an .svg file, and I think Tony's created it in Inkscape?

Hi, Long time reader, but I just got an account today to participate. I hope y'all don't mind. :)

I've lived in Vancouver in 2010 so I chose Toronto as I felt I'd know a bit more about the host nation. I spent about an hour making a logo, which I've posted below. It's still a WIP as of yet, and I welcome any feedback or criticism.

A bit about the logo itself, the "shards" together form an abstract maple leaf, obviously representing Canada. The blue and green represents the land of Canada and it's diverse beauty, The idea for the shards came from the idea that an Olympic logo has to represent everyone coming together, to be something greater than the sum of it's parts. Additionally the shards are transparent, so you could see through them, if the logo was placed over an image or made out of glass. This was to convey the idea that each person from the world over coming together creates a unique appearance and outlook on the world.

I hope that makes sense and that you all enjoy the logo. I welcome any criticism or feedback so go ahead. :P

That's a nice logo, but the illuminati lot from 2012 would go nuts. Look at all those triangles!

It's funny, I did try to incorporate secret meaning into the logo, specifically, a heart made out of triangles in the middle, to represent the compassion of Canadian people and such. Unfortunately I couldn't figure out a way to make that work. :P

Beautiful effort alphacarter.

I have to say, it's not my favourite of the Toronto logos because I think the transluscence could mean it gets lost if applied against anything other than a white background. But it's really nicely balanced, and very Canadian and very wintery.

It reminds me a lot of London 2012's look elements actually...

I have to agree with you in all of those respects. I've come across the issue of translucency while trying to create a poster. I've come up with a simple workaround of applying a white enlarged logo behind it. Unfortunately it still doesn't sit right with me. Here's an example:

I think I might try reworking the logo to solve this problem. What do y'all think?

Is this better?

Just trying to get a second opinion on this one now that it's darker. Although the majority seemed to like the first logo I made a few pages back. I'm going to go with that one, but just change it up a bit.
