Mr Tickle Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 What a gentleman Scotguy is. Good show. Heres my brand typography and photography style. Full brand guidelines available soon.
Rob2012 Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Thanks Scotguy, good of you to withdraw it, and great you're still in the comp with a new logo. As I said, nothing personal; hope you understand where I and others were coming form.
intoronto Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Dannyel's is very strong. However I would consider changing the font for Toronto.
Citius Altius Fortius Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 My entries: The colour selection of purple, orange and pink for Bangkok reminds me a lot on the logo of Thai Airways
Sir Rols Posted December 4, 2013 Author Report Posted December 4, 2013 The colour selection of purple, orange and pink for Bangkok reminds me a lot on the logo of Thai Airways I don't think it's too close. One thing I did think with choosing Bangkok was that it would give a brighter (or gaudier, as i think Tikus-Kecil put it) colour pallette to work from - I never thought anyone would go with the red, white and blue of their flag. i'm getting that the most notable thing about toronto is that it begins with the letter t. Either that, or the letters "CN"
krow Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 Either that, or the letters "CN" and yet not a single logo with that eyesore a la eiffel tower/paris, and for good reason. 1) "it's, like, tall" is about the nicest thing you can say about it 2) it's about as iconic as the world's largest corn maze in dixon california.
DannyelBrazil Posted December 4, 2013 Report Posted December 4, 2013 The colour selection of purple, orange and pink for Bangkok reminds me a lot on the logo of Thai Airways Good then. It was my first reference, along with the national flower of Thailand and repeated elements they use for eveything in Thai art.TThis is my approach to their culture mixed with sports, movement, action. Not to mention, a simple reference to their style of architecture.
Anthony Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I don't know if this is the one I will submit, but I would like feedback!
mr.bernham Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I don't know if this is the one I will submit, but I would like feedback! I really like it but maybe a different font?
krow Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 the font's the best part. looks like a city sweatshirt you'd get at little store in at the far wing of the most touristy mall in town that you have to buy for $45 because you packed too warm and it's chilly at night and everyone wants to go down by the waterfront at night where it's colder and that you wore to work once on casual friday and the new girl saw you and asked if you were canadian so you never wore it again. to me it says, "toronto: a city in canada proud of its t's" also: would look great on a baseball uniform; possibly the back of a letterman jacket.
Scotguy Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I don't know if this is the one I will submit, but I would like feedback! Your feedback will be when people vote for it or don't vote for it
baron-pierreIV Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I LIKE IT. Very colorful!! What are the first 25 footnotes??
Mr Tickle Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I had an idea for Bangkok so here it is. Using the idea of a kick boxers movement to create a pattern the forms the image with very kickboxing style typography below. Using the colors of the national flag. I know kickboxing isn't an olympic sport but who knows what sports would be included come 2028, plus its a sport associated with Thailand so I don't see it as a major issue.
Palette86 Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 My entries: Dannyel, wow this is very Thai and sTHAIlish! I like especially coloured one(left). daveypodmore's font for BANGKOK is nice. Looks like Thai lettersวัสดีที่น้ำที่ห้าคื. You are really talented for art!
DannyelBrazil Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Dannyel, wow this is very Thai and sTHAIlish! I like especially coloured one(left). Thank you very much!
Anthony Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Your feedback will be when people vote for it or don't vote for it I understand, but I'm not sure if this is the logo I will submit. I just put this one out there to get feedback. As this is a forum, people usually have a rebuttal as to what was previously posted, and that's what I was waiting for.
mr.bernham Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 I understand, but I'm not sure if this is the logo I will submit. I just put this one out there to get feedback. As this is a forum, people usually have a rebuttal as to what was previously posted, and that's what I was waiting for. There is just something odd about it I just can't put my finger on it, I guess it just looks to casual.
Athensfan Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 So far, I really like Victor Mata's Toronto logo. It's unique and unified.
Palette86 Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 ^^ I've been there long before. This must be "sao chin chaa" and this is a blanco for a festival.
