Melbourne aught to host the event sometime in the future.

You could have the actual pageant hosted in 3 potential venues. The Plenary hall at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre at 5,000. The Convention Centre's halls at say up to 10,000 or at the Crown Promenade Hall/Ballroom at 1,000-3,000 depending on setup.

Contestants could stay at any 3 of Crown Casino's hotels. The whole casino vibe thing will be present throughout the pageant.

Perth hosted in I don't know when. Right now, the Miss Universe Org requires a $12 million 'rights fee' in addition to the host city/nation absorbing all the production and hosting costs. So probably, if Melbourne can budget some $22 million to staging it, it can be yours.

PH*CKING Venezuela again grabs Miss Universe 2013 crown!! Ariella Arida, Miss RP, comes in only as 3rd runner-up.

4th runner-up - Brazil

3rd - RP

2nd - Ecuador

1st - Hispana

Miss Ugly - Venezuela!!! Boo! Hiss!!

Trump shows some balls! Altho Miss U owner, Donald Trump invited Vladimir Putin to attend, he issued word that Edward Snowden was not welcome to the contest unless "...he wanted to have Trump take him home to face justice!!" Good on ya, Donald!!

Miss Universe Australia is held annually at the Sofitel Melbourne. I doubt will see Australia bid to host Miss Universe. ROI not guaranteed. Perth hosted the pageant in 1979.
