63rd Miss World Pageant, live from Bali, Indonesia

Sorry for the late post.

The 63rd Miss World pageant will be held on 28 September at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center in Bali, Indonesia. The finals originally scheduled for Jakarta was moved to Bali after protest my Islamist in the capital prompted the Indonesian government to have the finals in the mainly Hindu island. 127 contestants representing countries and territories the world over will be vying to succeed China's Wenxia Yu. The contestants arrived in Bali as early as July 3rd with formal opening held on July 8th.

2002: Turkey's Azra Akin is crowned Miss World 2002 at London's Alexandra Palace. Her victory makes her the second Muslim winner after Egypt's win in 1954.

1994: Aishwarya Rai of India won the crown in 1994. Years after her victory, she's became one of Bollywood's top actress and even landed on the cover of Time Magazine and was included in the magazine's list of the world 100 most influential people.

2001: Nigeria's Agbani Darego became the first Black African winner of the Miss World crown when she was named Miss World in Sun City.

1986: Future Academy Award winner Halle Berry of Cleveland, Ohio while competing at the 1986 Miss World pageant. She finished the competition in sixth place. The winner that year was Giselle La Ronde of Trinidad and Tobago.

who are the judges Miss World uses? Celebrity judges or professional pageant judges?

Its usually a mix of celebrity and high society judges for miss world. in the past, they had ivana trump, vanessa williams, amitabh bachan, dean cain, lennox lewis, iman to name a few as judges. don't know who'll be judging this year.
