Olympic Fan Darcy
This is so polarising! I can't stand it. I hope Australia never bids again - this unbearable I couldn't stand this if it were Melbourne or Sydney. No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pui from HK
Still have to wait for an hour!!!! Why cant they announce just within 10 mins?
paul92
1.5 hours. According to the schedule its between 5-530 local time, and they have the annoying stuff before the reveal. Ah thanks Now it is all making sense. They have to move to the big announcement room. Just giving the results right there and then would have been far too difficult! intoronto
In first round Istanbul and Madrid each had at least 24 votes.

ktoles
I can't believe the IOC in eliminating Madrid 2020, I believe they have lost an opportunity, In all due respect to Tokyo (whom I endorsed for 2016), they are now the only choice left. To elect Istanbul would be a cataclysmic mistake of epic proportions.
Ikarus360
Respect ! We're talking about the guy who threw a tantrum when Rio won in 2009, so don't expect respect from him. Well, I doubt Madrid will even bother trying again. Let's face it. Spain is economically crippled. The least thing they need is the Olympics. And since both Istambul and Madrid were in a draw, I think Tokyo's going to win for sure.
Frenchy
I'm still thinking Istanbul will be the winner.

baron-pierreIV
Madrid should give it a rest for a few years. Even a Barcelona 2022 is ill-advised.
yoshi
OH MY GOD. Never expected a TB. One vote in it Bring on 9, Istanbul is still in this, come on.
