This thread is now unreadable.

Rendering of the Olympic stadium (stade de France) and the aquatic center.

Because Baron.

According to a recent poll, 54% of the French want Paris to be elected host city for 2024, with 43% against.

Interestingly, the same poll shows that only 40% think Paris will actually be elected, with 55% who think it won't.

Ahahah, French pessimism.... (and I'm quite aware I'm exactly like that). ^_^

Not so much 'pessimism' as 'realism'. The French remember what happened on the three previous occasions and they trust the members of the IOC only as far as they can throw 'em!

It's for the IOC to now show a clean pair of hands and show that they have - finally - got their act together and rooted out all the rotten wood....

It's up to the IOC to pick the best bid for them. As they did for 2008 and 2012. They have nothing to prove to the French,.

They may perhaps have nothing to prove to the French but they certainly have a lot to prove to any other potential bidders if they don't want the recent debacle to happen again....

I don't want to do Paris down (I still think you'll win easily) but you're not the only bid to fit that bill. Hamburg & LA would both help win back Western countries to the Olympics.

Although if you're talking about winning Europe back, I think it's between Paris & Hamburg. And Hamburg's big-building plan doesn't exactly scream of Agenda 2020 :P

What it could look like in games mode:

(the yellow areas are the athletes' housing, in blue is the Cité du Cinema, which would be used as a restaurant, in brown is the transport hub)

I'm not sure how the IOC will receive the idea of an olympic village split in two with the Seine in the middle...

There are 2 schools included in the Olympic Village.

(So, a lot of classrooms)

Do you have any idea what it can be used for?

Conference rooms? Could also be used as extra rooms either for athletes, their retinues or for Security forces being brought into the city.

And they can always add an extra temporary bridge or 2 for the duration of the Games.

The restaurant should be composed of the nef + the mezzanine + the restaurant (6000 m2)

I think the studios will be used as training halls (9 studios from 600m2 to 2100 m2)
