yoshi Posted March 26 Report Posted March 26 Tbf is this a big public event like the Arc parade or just like a get together for volunteers etc? (I don't remember what we did if anything on July 27 2013 or 17. The 10th anniversary party turned out to be the Commonwealth Games ) Quote

But then 9/11 happened four days before, so it became a much smaller, muted affair. Channel 7 aired a replay of the Opening Ceremony that night after the AFL semi final. BigVic Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 The first anniversary in Sydney saw the re-lighting of the re-located Cauldron with events proceeding despite the 9/11 attacks earlier that week. It was the re-ignite the spriit of the Games and to lift the spirits up after those tragic events. Quote
Cyriln Posted March 27 Report Posted March 27 Just thought about something: on 27 July, it will be the last stage of the Tour de France, which will be back on the Champs-Élysées. Don't know what's the usual setting, but some of it may also be used the day before. Quote
