FYI
I don't see that this incident changes much of anything that's already being planned, security wise, for Paris 2024. It's a given that massive security measures have to be taken for an event as huge like the Olympic Games. Just how like 7/7/05 didn't effect London 2012 security plans much, or how the blast in downtown Istanbul last month won't have much more of an effect than the usual for it's 2036 Olympic candidacy. It's all already being taken into account in the bigger picture.
baron-pierreIV
/\ @fatixx, That's really an isolated incident which can happen anywhere in the world. Or are you highlighting it because it happened in a Kurdish neighborhood? I mean, when is Turkiye going to leave the Armenians and the Kurds alone? I know it's not your fault -- but please tell your f*cking Erdogan to already GET OVER IT!! Imagine, even blackmailing Sweden and Finland's attempts to join NATO just so he can get even with his "perceived" enemies. He's acting just like a dictator that he is. And that's why the IOC will never give the Games to Turkiye until Turkiye grows up. Edited December 23, 2022 by baron-pierreIV

But on the other side you are writing so grudge and hatred.. what has this news to do with erdoğan, armenia, kurdish neighbourhood or blackmailing sweden ?? btw-1: erdoğan is not a dictator, he is the most visionary leader in the world at the moment btw-2: erdoğan stopped supporting an eventually gamez istanbul, he is no proponent anymore.. so no problem there.. ---- off-record or.. it could be as in history.. in 1983 the armenian terror group asala bombed the orly airport in paris 8 people were killed: 4 french, 2 turks, 1 american 1 swede.. source: 1983 Orly Airport attack - Wikipedia

fatixxx
a pitty for paris at the moment.. i comdamn the terorrist attacks from the pkk-group towards the french police.. as usual the pkk makes a big battlefield of the paris-streets.. this is what you get if you support blindly the most bloody pkk-terrorism as normally kurdish people.. because they dont represent the kurdish people.. they represent the proxy-terror-behaving supported by the hegemonic powers.. Sir Rols
There are many threats, in any country, towards citizens and events. But really, people want to come in here to learn about and discuss Paris 2024. Not prosecute issues in Turkish politics.
Scotguy II
Paris like all cities is not immune to terrorist and other attacks but unfortunately Paris and France has suffered alot more from terrorist attacks over the last 15 years than most European countries. The Paris games will be no different to other games in terms of their security risks and hopefully the French security will be top notch during the games, however like every single event in any country, there will always be a risk. On a more positive note... I have registered to go into the draw for Paris 2024 tickets
Sir Rols
To be fair on the French, like many countries that learned their lesson the hard way, they seem to have been on top of the situation since the peak of 2015-16. One can never be complacent, but I suspect better coordination with other intelligence agencies and more effective surveillance has spared them more grief in recent years. It’s the, usually lone, racist right wing nut jobs that are slipping through the cracks more in recent years. As in Paris last week. And as in others like notably NZ and (depressingly commonly) in the US. Let’s not forget the last major attack at the Olympics, in Atlanta, came from that murky world.
