Chelsea 1 - 3 Atletico Madrid

Ok, so there's a possibility of a first European final between teams from the same city... or a repeat of the final of 2012... or a repeat of the final from 40 years ago... or between José Mourinho's current and former team.

got it right

El Derbi madrileño. The first time ever in European club competitions when two teams from same city meet each other in the final. Who would have thought that Atletico could not only be close to winning the league but also be able to reach the CL final in the same season.

Champions League final 2014: Atletico Madrid's Diego Costa undergoes controversial muscle treatment

Atlético Madrid are hoping that a visit to a doctor with controversial methods in Belgrade will help miraculously cure star striker Diego Costa in time for Saturday's Champions League final in Lisbon.

The Brazilian-born forward, who has been selected in the Spain World Cup squad, has been struggling with an injury to his right hamstring, having been diagnosed with a grade-one hamstring tear after his team's draw with Barcelona on Saturday, which secured the La Liga title.

It is feared that the painful spasms Costa has been suffering with which could curtail his blossoming career, and in the short term manager Diego Simeone is desperate to have his key attacker back for the club's first Champions League final appearance, against city rivals Real Madrid.

Players who have suffered a grade-one hamstring tear are usually have to sit out for a fortnight, but Costa has travelled to the Serbian capital earlier this week to meet with 'miracle doctor' Marijana Kovacevic in the hope he can be healed in time for the biggest game of his career, according to Spanish paper AS.

Specialist Kovacevic, who became well-known for using horse placenta to treat muscular injuries, is well known to Premier League footballers, having treated Frank Lampard, Glen Johnson, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta and Robin van Persie, as well as Yossi Benayoun, the former Liverpool midfielder.

"There were no animal parts used and no injections," Benayoun revealed after his treatment. "The doctor has treated a lot of players and seems to be held in very high regard. She explained everything to me beforehand and told me she would be using fluid from a placenta that had come from a woman.

"Nothing went into the muscle itself. It was just a case of massaging the liquid on to the skin around the affected area."

The striker is due to return to the Atlético fold on Wednesday at Los Ángeles de San Rafael, after a flying visit to Belgrade.
