Dale Begg-Smith ended up finishing 19th in Q1 and 15th in Q2. Two Australians qualified from Q1 and of those two Matt Graham is already qualified for Q2 (top 12).

This us the winter games though, it's more par for the course for us. For all the hype on Ten, it's really always only really been Torah in the half pipe, Chumpy in the board cross and Lydia hopefully overcoming the Chinese in the aerials as our realistic chances.

Couple Aussies up tonight.

Ladies sprint free qualification cross-country with Esther Bottomley. Qualification at 8pm and there is quarter finals and semi finals. The final is supposedly on at 11:22pm.

Mens sprint free qualification cross-country with Phillip Bellingham and Callum Watson. Qualification 8:25pm. quarter finals and semi's. And the final is at 11:30.

Ladies ski slopestyle qualification freestyle skiing with Anna Segal. According to channel 10 (not they have gotten the others right) she is a real chance. She's won medals before at other ski slopestyle events including Gold at the 2011 world ski championships. Qualifying is at 4pm and the final is at 7pm.

Mens halfpipe qualification snowboard with Scotty James (who we remember from earlier in the week), Nathan Johnstone and Kent Callister. Qualifying is at 8pm, semi at 1am and final at 3:30am.

Really, really hoping we can get a medal tonight.

No offense to her because she seems like an amazing person but Torah Bright and her family need to quit bitching about the halfpipe course. They have been constantly whinging about it. I've been talking to a bunch of people (who don't know olympics) and they simply know her as "the girl that complains". The whining is probably annoying the organizers and perhaps the very people who will judge her! She needs to keep her mouth shut.

Kent Callister might be born in California and might be living in Oregon, but his great uncle created Vegemite. Definitively would have been a travesty if he represented any country other than Australia.

He looks like a decent snowboarder, too.
