I have to say, the snow conditions were terrible compared to snowboard. Soft snow means the skiers have to deal with unpredictable landings and not getting as much speed (resulting in some of the crashes); whenever you saw an athlete land one jump but skip the next is because they knew they didn't have enough speed to carry their jump.

At the rate we're going I would hardly be surprised to see Alex Beaulieu-Marchant winning the men's ski slopestyle, not because he's a favourite but because of how well the rest of the Canadian freestyle skiing team is doing.

This is reminiscent of the 2011 worlds, where Canada won six of the ten Olympic events (plus both Dual Moguls). We're actually outpacing those championships at this point, since we didn't win the men's moguls or the women's slopestyle there.

Didn't she win the gold in this event in 2006? Wow what a big drop off since then.

She did and in 2006 it was in the classical style like in Sochi. Vancouver's was freestyle.

I honestly don;t know what happened with her. Its her last Olympics as well.

2 medals today :D

As of now SI had Canada at 5-4-5. So down 4 medals (Guay, Gagnon, Toutant, Gough, Harvey and O'Brien but gained one from Lemarre), so if we stay on pace (most of the marginal predictions have past) we are on pace for 27 medals.

As for Infostrada, Canada has missed on 3 medals (Parrot, Gough and Harvey) and gained none. On pace for 30 medals, but they gave Canada 3 medals in speed skating that are marginal.
