intoronto
McMorris would have qualified had he been in the other heat. He goes to the semifinals where the top 4 go to the finals.
SkiFreak
Mr. White... It's easy to find excuses to pull out of a contest when you think you can't win... — Sebastien Toutant (@SebToots) When I first read "Mr. White" the first thing that popped into my head was Eddie Murphy's old character on SNL... JLishere
McMorris scored 89.25, which was actually better than Toutant (Heat 1) - yet Toutant is qualified for finals. McMorris was simply in more competitive group. Had he been in Heat 1 instead, he would be in 3rd place right now and already qualified for finals. That said, 89.25 is still not good enough. He's gotta bring it in semi-finals.

Faster
I'm watching it, not holding my breathe. Canadians tend to have a long tradition of under-performing.

Gangwon
Yeah McMorris needs step up- now. I wonder if he lost his confidence with the rib? He said a couple days ago he could feel pain when making a big landing- because of the rib.

Faster
Its been good. McMorris into the final, needs to find what the judges like because his runs are good, his scores not so much.

Faster
I just get the impression that the judges don't like McMorris's style. And when there is a 9 point spread in judges scoring you have to question that.
JLishere
I don't get the scores either. But it looks like the X Games reward risk and tricks. Here, the judges seem to prefer technical but conservative runs (McMorris adapted for today's semi-final). His problem is consistency and catering to the judges. So far, his scores are: 29.50 (qual 1) 89.25 (qual 2) 55.50 (semi 1) 89.25 (semi 2) I'm counting 10 athletes who scored higher than 90 already. Even with a clean run, McMorris didn't reach that. He's got to figure it out quick, and do clean runs from now on. Otherwise, I'm not sure we'll see any other Canadian on the podium aside from Parrot. JLishere
Not gonna happen. There's just no momemtum for McMorris. Kotsenburg (USA) just scored 93.50.
