Bear Posted September 22, 2023 Report Posted September 22, 2023 Looks like SBS On Demand will have some streams available for Australia, still trying to look for anything that'll work in the US tho https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/collection/asian-games-2023-live-and-upcoming Quote

Most of the streams on streaming services behind a paywall that requires national ID Singapore's Mediacorp through a VPN seems to work, you just need to create an account with them Quote

Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 You can watch in MBC if you have a VPN which allows connection to SK https://onair.imbc.com/ Quote
Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Seems these guys know no other song than Ode to Motherland. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Chinese Taipei received with loud cheers Some more scenes of the Parade of Nations I arrived somewhat late. Hopefully someone reuploads it to the tube later. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Augmented reality use in ceremonies seems to be here to stay now (being used in Birmigham as well despite being the first post-Covid ceremony). One of Pyeongchang's things which I think was a bad influence for these shows. Oh well. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Cauldron is kinda reminiscing of Vancouver's in a way except a single flame and no glitches in the mechanism. Quote

I do feel it was a bit over used though. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Full Opening Ceremony here. Watch it before its taken down (i'll try to find a better version in the meanwhile) 1 1 Quote
TorchbearerSydney Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Q: Augmented reality use in ceremonies seems to be here to stay now This annoys me so much- so much in our World is fake these days...do our ceremonies have to have fake things as well? Quote

AustralianFan Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 Didn’t know the Olympic Council of Asia had it’s own hymn for their flag raising. Quote
AustralianFan Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 The throwback in time had feels of Athens 2004 Quote
Bear Posted September 23, 2023 Report Posted September 23, 2023 An enjoyable ceremony. The AR fireworks were nice, better than having no fireworks at all. Also, were those projections on the floor or was it an LED screen? Quote
BigVic Posted September 25, 2023 Report Posted September 25, 2023 The future of ceremonies is here. Get used to this in future Olympic ceremonies. Remimds me of Beijing 2022 with a giant LED stage Quote

Remimds me of Beijing 2022 with a giant LED stage I mean it's been like this ever since Sochi, unless you mean the fake fireworks, in which case, Beijing 2008 already did it Quote
Ikarus360 Posted October 8, 2023 Report Posted October 8, 2023 Closing Ceremony to begin soon:https://onair.imbc.com/ Nagoya will be a more minimalistic/on a lower scale edition (Hotels instead of Athletes village and the Swiming events will be done in Tokyo already existing venue).Sadly, a consequence of the trainwreck which was Tokyo 2020 (the organizers are even explicity saying they have to avoid the mistakes from the Olympics). However, depending on how it plays out, if Aichi-Nagoya (which has been an area in Japan that has been deprived of sport events) meets its goal, it might make people in Japan recover trust in large scale sport events. Ikarus360 Posted October 8, 2023 Report Posted October 8, 2023 Looks like the girl from the Handover in Jakarta's closing. Quote
Ikarus360 Posted October 8, 2023 Report Posted October 8, 2023 Well, that was a very simplistic handover. They really want to keep this as low profile as they can. Quote
