Senkaku dispute opens door wider for Istanbul 2020 bid

Recommended Posts

Sounds exactly like how North Korea was the killer for PyeongChang's bid, and Georgia for Sochi's.

I think that's such a blip on the radar though. China only controls 2 votes, and the voting is SECRET, so how can China know if they pulled some strings or not? I'd be really impressed if China had won immediately for 2000. But they got trounced by Sydney and had to try again 8 years later. So, it's NOT like China is a superpower in the IOC ranks. Besides, some of the IOC wasn't exactly happy with China's running roughshod over the IOC leading up to 2008. Take the Official Report for one.
