Olympic Fan Darcy Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 still no discount on the site. Anyone found any bargains?
paul92 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Games Makers have had 50% off London 2012 stores for a while if we had our accreditations on us. But by the time I got to any stores - they were looking very empty.
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted September 17, 2012 Author Report Posted September 17, 2012 oh maybe thats why no discount all selling out!
paul92 Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Yeh it seems to be going fast. And now I think about it - in Trafalgar Square on the Victory Parade day they had a store set up in the square with some discounts for everyone. But even then it looked pretty empty.
Steve10086 Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Bought the singing/dancing Wenlock in Argos today for £3.99, a big discount on the original price of £39.99! Also, for anyone near a branch of The Entertainer, they have some great deals on mascots of various sizes.
Hobart Posted September 20, 2012 Report Posted September 20, 2012 on the topic of Pin it looks as if they have put out 2 new puzzle pin sets a month after the games have finished http://www.londonpins.co.uk/ What were they sitting under someones desk and the forgot about them before the went to the Olympics very strange.
Olympian2004 Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 No, I think they did that on purpose - knowing that in a mood of post-Games nostalgia, the people in the UK (or elsewhere) would probably like to have some more souvenirs of the Games. Quite clever actually.
Martijn Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Last chance to buy official London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Posters online Art and sport fans are still able to purchase Rachel Whiteread’s ‘LOndOn 2O12’ and Tracey Emin’s ‘Birds 2012’, the official posters of the Olympic and Paralympic Games respectively, before the London 2012 Online Shop closes at the end of this month (September 2012). Since 1912 each Olympic host city has commissioned one or more posters to celebrate the hosting of the Games and since the first Paralympic Games was held at Stoke Mandeville posters have also been commissioned for the Paralympic Games. The London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) sought to return to this artistic tradition, and commissioned twelve of the UK’s leading artists to create images to celebrate London hosting the 2012 Games, six for the Olympic Games and six for the Paralympic Games. Seb Coe, LOCOG Chair, said: ‘These brilliant posters by some of the UK’s leading artists will be a fitting reminder of the high quality, skill and creativity demonstrated during the London 2012 Games.’ Members of the public are able to buy copies of the images by Fiona Banner, Michael Craig-Martin, Martin Creed, Tracey Emin, Anthea Hamilton, Howard Hodgkin, Gary Hume, Sarah Morris, Chris Ofili, Bridget Riley, Bob and Roberta Smith and Rachel Whiteread as both posters (at a cost of £7 from www.london2012.com/shop) and limited edition prints (from www.countereditions.com). Both posters and prints are still available to purchase and, after the London 2012 Online Shop closes, will continue to be available from retail outlets.
paul92 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 On the Next website the large Team GB scarf is just £1 (down from £10.) And the small is 50p down from £5. What a discount.
Frenchy Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Seems that in spite of the success of the games, the merchandise isn't selling too well: http://www.dailymail...ales-slump.html http://www.dailymail...ish-public.html
paul92 Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 The Olympic Stadium model looks really crap. And the wrap didn't even end up like it does on the photo. (I know it was suppose to originally)
DarJoLe Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Seems that in spite of the success of the games, the merchandise isn't selling too well: http://www.dailymail...ales-slump.html http://www.dailymail...ish-public.html Only for Hornby. Sales elsewhere were very healthy. More to do with their overpricing of products- note the rail set which is now sold out its been made cheaper.
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 I'm sure the postage is unreasonable anyway wanted to buy something for 3 pounds off London 2012 and 19 pounds postage was like piss off.
The Tower Bridge Fox Posted October 2, 2012 Report Posted October 2, 2012 I noticed that the Merchandise on sale inside the Olympic Park and Live sites was a far more stylistically coherent and attractive range of products than in the Olympic shops away from the venues, and the London 2012 online shop which frankly looked like a stylistic mess.
Rich Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 Collected my London 2012 parasol yesterday from remains of the games. Not sure it goes with my Japanese inspired garden!
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted October 7, 2012 Author Report Posted October 7, 2012 Wow that's a great piece of memorabilia!
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted October 21, 2012 Author Report Posted October 21, 2012 Well shop is closed no discounts. How disappointing! They lost alot of my money. http://shop.london2012.com/
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted October 22, 2012 Author Report Posted October 22, 2012 Perhaps they sold everything? Possibly. Some stuff I would've love to get. A tshirt one of those parasols etc will stick to eBay and get my bargains like a real plush 4 bucks free postage. Still need to get a pin hmm
scoobiesnacks Posted October 22, 2012 Report Posted October 22, 2012 Perhaps they sold everything? No, they sold off remaining stock to discount stores eg home bargains has all the mugs, were £10 now 29p to 50p
Olympic Fan Darcy Posted October 25, 2012 Author Report Posted October 25, 2012 Well that's dissapointing to those like me who are overseas
OlympicNut Posted November 10, 2012 Report Posted November 10, 2012 This website has a good selection of T-shirts, and a smattering of other clothing, at rock bottom prices - http://www.mandmdirect.com/ - either follow the appopriate link from the homepage, or choose the filters 'adidas 2012' and 'london 2012' from the Brand drop-down menu. It appears they can sell online to EU countries, or over the phone to non-EU countries.
