NZ has taken a tentetive lead in the Woman's Elliot. Hopefully a bonus gold, Guaranteed silver in the mens 49ers.

Its the Women's 470's rather than the Elliot. We finished 9th in the Elliot. The Women's 470's won 2 races on day 11! Two races and the medal race to go. Fingers Crossed.

Olympic windsurfer to auction bronze medal in aid of neighbour with Cystic Fibrosis

Poland's Zofia Noceti-Klepacka, who won bronze in the women’s RS-X windsurfing event at the London 2012 Olympics intends to auction her medal to help five-year-old Zuzanna Bobinska, who is seriously ill with cystic fibrosis.

Ahead of the Games, Ms Noceti-Klepacka vowed to win a medal for "Zuzia" who she consdiers to be her biggest fan.

She also promised the girl a bouncy castle and holidays.

According to Polish media, she wrote on a Twitter: "I promise you I'll get this medal for you. And when we have it, we'll sell it and buy a large bouncy castle. With a slide."

"We'll spend every autumn in warm countries. So you'll no longer be sick."

"Zuzia is my most faithful fan, and probably the youngest. She is also fighting, but with a disease. Zuzia, I'll blow away these games for you!"

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited condition which affects the functioning of organs including the lungs. The average life expectancy of someone with CF is between thirty and forty years.

Noceti-Klepacka says that at one point during the race, she had a moment of doubt when she lost points for taking a wrong turn.

"Zuzia called me and said I had to fight on - for honour!" she told Polish broadcaster TVN24.

"But look, Zuzia, I do have a medal and will sell it, and the money will be for you!"

Ainslie calls time on Olympic career

The most successful Olympic sailor, Britain's Ben Ainslie, on Tuesday confirmed that he will not defend his title at the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro to focus instead on a new challenge in the America's Cup.

"It fills me with both relief and sadness to write these words but I can now officially confirm that I have donned by Team GB tracksuit for the last time," the quadruple gold medallist and multiple world champion wrote in the Daily Telegraph.

"No more Olympic villages. No more opening or closing ceremonies. After almost 20 years entirely dedicated to the pursuit of gold, taking in five Olympic campaigns, I have decided I will not attempt a sixth at Rio de Janeiro in 2016."
